Last Saturday i was rear ended on the fwy by another rider supposedly avoiding a car. We both went down. Limping, scratched (other rider. Not i. He was in a tank; i was in leathers), bumped n bruised. Hobbled off the fwy and began assessing the damage. Never even occurred to me to look at my knees, as they didn't hurt. Turns out...my left knee took a banging, but another rider had to point it out. Eventually a bruised formed, but nothing mayor. We crashed @ approximately 30 mph. If it wasn't for these guards, my left knee would have been in serious trouble. These guards absorbed the impact so well, i didn't even know i had landed on my left knee. The guards stayed in place too. I'm 5'3, 115 and was wearing a medium. Good job forcefield. Good job indeed. Will buy again.

Although the boot is nowhere near as technical as a track boot, these boots are great for every other kind of riding. I have had my ankle pinned between the exhaust pipe and a concrete center divider (had an unfortunate encounter with a wasp while riding) and these boots kept my ankle and skin in tact. I don't even want to imagine how that situation would have turned out if i was out in regular sneakers.
Super comfortable, warm yet still breathable, sturdy, good looking, provides protection and...did i mention INSANELY COMFORTABLE?? I would have liked to see just a little more protection features on the boot. Size runs big. I'm typically and 8...but the 7 was perfect. I will definitely buy these again.
and for the ladies that are a little on the short side, these boots give you a little bit of height. YAY!

Scorpion EXO-500 Oil Helmet The Scorpion EXO-500 immediately catches the eye with its innovative design, enhanced by a superb sharp ridge on the underside of the shell. Inspired by its older brother, the Scorpion EXO-1000 , the EXO 500 Helmet is based on the GT philosophy and is fitted as standard with the last generation visor of its elder. And as if that were not enough, it integrates the SpeedView built-in retractable sunvisor treated with anti-fog coating on both sides. Two accessories usually reserved for high-end helmets! Comprising 3 caps and a lighter and more durable shell than its predecessor, fitted with a very soft and comfortable inner lining thanks to the new KwikWick2 liner and triple density foam cheek pads, the Scorpion EXO 500 Helmets will drastically change your expectations from a full face helmet of the standard range. Equipped with the revolutionary Airfit technology and a state-of-the-art ventilation system, chances are the new Scorpion will steal the show from the much more expensive helmets among those daily users who want to buy the best helmet for the best price. Features Kwikwick2 Liner - moisture wicking, hypoallergenic, removable, machine washable, soft SpeedView Retractable sunvisor - treated with antifog on both sides Airfit technology - Inflate and deflate the cheek pads to make it fit perfectly- this provides a better fit thus better safety and shock absorption. Helmet looks great. The red is a nice bright red, not a dark red. Taking off the shield is easy-breezy and the air flow is great.
Problems: The air pump system is FANTASTIC....until it deflates on it's own. The first time i went riding in it i noticed that when it came time to take off the helmet and deflate...there was nothing to deflate. Hmmm. Second time i used it i had the same problem. Hmm HMMMMM. Today at home as per the instructions of a revzilla rep, i inflated the pads and just let it sit on the table. After 15 minutes, still had air and it deflated. Pumped it up again...this time waited 30 minutes. All the air was gone. Nothing to deflate.
Second issue: The shield has streaks on it over by the far right side that look like dried water markings. I almost want to say that there is something wrong with the shield coating in this little section. Held in the right light these dried "water streak" patterns have an iridescent shimmer to them.
If these issues weren't present, i'd be satisfied with the helmet. The drop down internal visor is very convenient. A bit rattly when on the fwy. The helmet is also pretty noisy on the fwy. For the price however, it's much better than what's out there.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Shark Speed-R Sauer Helmet SHARK is proud to present a new philosophy. Utilizing all SHARKs expertise in safety, innovation and function the SPEED -R is a helmet specifically designed to meet the passionate demands of un-faired motorcycle riders. Double blade air spoiler positioned at the rear of the Speed-R, it allows the air to flow above and below the blade, hence the dual venturi effect to extract warm air from the helmet. Spoiler/stabilizer at its rear base trim the Speed-R has a spoiler, which stabilizes the helmet ans the cancels the buffering effect. The immediate benefit is no air turbulence running inside the helmet and greater stability at a steady speed. Features Latest generation composite long fibre construction Integrated, drop down sun visor Extensive wind-tunnel testing to perfect aerodynamics and ventilation system for use with naked road bikes Faceshield varies in thickness and is optically correct, scratch resistant and anti-fog coated Completely remove and washable COOLMAX lining Shark Easy Fit glasses system offers wearers a comfort lining which has a pre-tted system to accommodate all types of glasses ECE 2205 and DOT approved Two shell sizes Approximate weight size M 1450 g (+/ 50 g)

annnd another sizing question

I have the shark RSI in an x-small and my gosh that fits deliciously. My other helmet was a scorpion exo-500 in
x-small...definitely NOT as snug and delicious, but that drop-down visor was grrreat. It felt a bit too roomy around my face (cheeks, jaw). How would this shark compare?
