I got this to wear under my racing suit and it's worked out very well. I've rode in 80 degree weather and this suit keeps me dry even when I start to sweat. I really like that the zipper unzips from the top or bottom, this feature comes in very handy. My only critique of the suit is that it seems to sort of bind up on my knees. I have a Dainese Avro 2-piece suit, and the undersuit seems to grab the inside of it at my knees as I move around on my bike. Not a big deal, but I'm hopping it'll smooth out a little after wearing it for a while.

Dainese Avro Two Piece Suit Sports passion and assertiveness complemented by elevated protection and technical content distinguish this two-piece suit with an enviable quality-price ratio that makes it a good entry level product to the Dainese world. Co-injected shoulders with aluminum inserts, homologated protectors that apply technology derived from F1 racing experience, and cowhide with high abrasion resistance are only a few of the features vaunted by this two-piece suit. Remarkable comfort and freedom of movement during even the most competitive riding are ensured by the ample elasticated inserts, highly-resistant bi-axial elasticated S1 fabric, and the 3D Bubble liner Features Composite protectors certified to EN 1621.1/97 Standard Co-injected shoulder with aluminum insert Soft protectors certified to Standard EN 1621.1/97 at sides Cowhide 3D Bubble liner with air chambers Aerodynamic Hump S1 Fabric Ergonomics Suit Boots fastening System Double Zipper at calf Inserts in stretch fabric Elastic Inserts Collar with elasticated insert Sanitized liner Soft inserts Interchangeable sliders Internal Pocket

I originally got this suit thinking that I could wear just the jacket if I was just heading out for a coffee, and wear the full suit for riding in the canyons, but the jacket is far too short to wear it by is self. Even though that aspect didn't work out for me, I am extremely happy with the suit. 99% of my riding is just for fun (mostly in the canyons) and this suit is perfect for it. If I do pull over for a brake, being able to unzip the jacket (which is easily done) will be handy on a hot day. And even though the suit doesn't have perforation in the leather, the stretch panels let enough air through to keep me cool.

I've been wearing these for about a month now, and there perfect in every way. I've tried others, and they were either too high or too short, and some of them made my feet too hot (I live in So Cal) but these are just the right height (with my Dainese Torque Pro boots) and I can ride all day and be comfortable.

This combination chest and back protector is exactly what I was looking for. It offers the maximum protection with complete comfort. It's nice to know that I can take off any part of the protector if I choose too (I doubt I ever will though) and I can wear it under anything that I would ride in (I never ride without a leather jacket, no matter how hot it is) and I barely know I have it on. I hope I never have to test it, but based on all the MotoGP and Superbike crashes I've seen of riders wearing Dainese, I'm confident that I'm well protected.

I chose these boots because they have Dainese's best features, and offer the best protection. I chose the Torque Pro In boots because I like the look of the "in" boots with leathers and they work well with jeans also.

Dainese Kit J Knee Guards Protection Knee composite protectors certified to EN 1621.1/97 Standard Ergonomics and Comfort Perforated plates Partially superimposed external polypropylene plates Protectors are compatible with Dainese D1 Armor Ready Jeans only.

Do these have straps to hold them on?

I understand that these are made for the D1 jeans, and I assume that the jeans have pockets for the knee guards, but do they also have straps that wrap around the leg so you can wear them with anything?

How short is the jacket when worn alone?

How much shorter is this jacket compared to the Dainese Avro Leather Jacket (not the 2 piece) when worn with some jeans. Im 6' and been told that a size 50 would be perfect for me.
I haven't tried on the Avro Jacket (that's sold alone) but I think the jacket from the 2 piece suit is too short to wear alone. The bottom of the jacket sits right at the waist (see the size chart to see where I'm talking about), so It's about 3-4 inches above the top of my jeans when I put it on by itself. Also I'm 5'11" and 190 lbs (athletic build) and I'm wearing a size 52.
