Shark Evoline 3 ST Century Hi Viz Helmet Sharks masterpiece continues on its evolution. Never has a helmet given you such options between street/road riding, open or full face. Improvements to the Series 3 include Easier manipulation of the chinbar thanks to the Auto-Up system. The unique motion of the Evoline remains unchanged and has become even more natural with the Series3. The Auto-Up system has been simplified - chinbar and main shield are now united in a single movement. Fabrics, finish and style. The interior of the Evoline Series 3 has been totally redesigned and is softer, better and more comfortable. Brand new ventilation design fore and aft. Overall lower weight has been decreased by approximately 200 grams. Features Lexan Polycarbonate shell Shark Easy Fit system for comfortable use with glasses Sharktooth ready Integrated drop down sun shield Removable and washable CoolMax liner ECE 2205 approved with chinbar in both open and closed position ECE 2205 and DOT approved

Love the full flip chin bar (which is main reason I bought this helmet). Not quite as easy to flip open and close one handed while riding as I had anticipated but not impossible either. I bought this helmet as soon as it was available in U.S. after reading European reviews. I wasn't sure what to expect since no dealers carry the Shark brand anywhere nearby. Only have 2 weeks of daily commute riding experience with this helmet so far but so far there are no unpleasant surprises. Weight is slightly more than non-modular (as expected) but well balanced. Quality, fit and finish seem to be on par with others in the same price range. Noise level is about the same as my previous Shoei RF-1000 helmet which was mid level (not too loud but not quiet either). Haven't ridden through rain yet so I can't review that part. Only complaints I have so far are that I had to tear apart the lower side a bit to make my Scala Rider G4 communication system fit (the bottom of the helmet doesn't have enough space to fit the system without ripping the seams). And that while the helmet looks normal sitting on a desk, for some reason it looks huge when put it on my head (it fits perfectly, just looks HUGE compared to other helmets) ... as my friend said, I look like Lord Dark Helmet from the Spaceballs movie. Other than that everything is to my liking and I would recommend this helmet to anyone.

How forgiving is the size chart? The XL Evoline maxes out at 24.4, but my head measures 24.5-6.
You should be okay with XL. This helmet is slightly on the larger side anyway when compared to some other brands (from reviews I've read). Also, the pads wear in a bit over time. I had a large Shoei and the Medium Shark Evo fit me perfectly.

will it accomodate the Scala Cardo Q2?
Don't know about the Q2 but G4 I think is similar in size and I got it to fit but I had to tear apart the sides a bit to do so. In short, it wasn't made to fit it easily but you can make it happen with a little persistence.
