The A/S Viper Air's many strengths more than outweigh its minor weaknesses.
Pros:
• Protection: Mesh materials seems much more durable and protective than other mesh jackets. It feels like it will do a good job of resisting abrasion in a crash.
• Fit: Fits my body better than most other "American-" or "touring-cut" jackets, which are usually too baggy. I'm 5'9", 160 lbs. and athletic or fitted shirts fit me best. This size M feels like it's molded to me. Nice and snug but not too tight. The sizing chart is dead on.
• Construction: A really well-made jacket. Fit and finish are superb.
• Value: Better construction and quality than you would expect for this price.
Cons:
* Zippers: They're a bit flimsy. They seem to be light-duty and really should be more robust for a motorcycle jacket. Most of the tabs are too small to easily grab while wearing gloves, except for the sleeve zippers. Also, the pull tab for the main zipper is on the left (Euro-style), so it might take a bit of getting used to.
• Liner: Includes only a non-waterproof vest liner when most mesh jackets come with a waterproof full liner. However, if you wear a rain overcoat this won't be an issue. Vest liner does a decent job of blocking wind.
• Visibility: I got the high-vis yellow and it really could use more yellow. It's supposed to be high-vis and yet the vast majority of the jacket is black.
• Collar: A little scratchy when turning my head.
If you're on the slim side like me and have trouble finding jackets that fit, I would definitely recommend this.
