I wanted to replace the laptop briefcase which I would bungee to the back seat of my bike. I selected the Alpinestars Tech Aero because of my familiarity with the brand and the built-in raincover. The backpack just barely fits my 17" laptop (15.5" x 11" x 1.25") and has space for the power supply and other gear, and pockets for pens/pencils/etc. I would prefer the external helmet carrier to be replaced with a zippered pouch to allow carrying more briefcase-type items. The water-resistant zippers are a bit stiff, but the raincover does its job and keeps everything in the main backpack compartment dry. The cover also stays put at highway speeds. The waist pouches are not covered by the raincover and are not waterproof. The cellphone holder is ridiculously small and also not waterproof, but can be removed. The waist and torso straps keep the backpack from moving around, and the quick-release shoulder strap is very convenient. I rated durability 4/5 since I've only been using this backpack for a few weeks and would like more data...nothing has broken or torn so far.
Yes, I recommend this product.

How big does the waist belt expand too? Most backpacks are for small guys...what does this pack go to in size?

Each waist strap, including side pouch and buckle, extends to 21". The width of the backpack at the waist is 10.5". I'm not a small or thin guy, and the backpack fits over my textile jacket with plenty of adjustment room to spare.

Will a dual sport helmet fit in the helmet carrier?

I have an AFX FX-39 helmet in XL, and I was wondering if it would fit securely in the helmet carrier.
I am not familiar with the AFX FX-39, but the helmet holder fits my Nolan N103 with articulating chinbar, size XL, with no problem. The raincover does not really fit securely with the helmet in the holder.
