I know these are over pants so they are supposed to be big, but you could wear these over another pair of over pants. The nylon is very tough, and the stretch panels are well placed ergonomically. It's tough to get them on if you already have your boots on, because you will catch your toe on the knee pads. One strange thing - it says there is hip armor. There is not. I have had two of these (stepped down in size) and neither of them have had hip armor. I don't care, but it is odd since the tags and description both mention including it. Overall these are good and inexpensive over pants.

They're waterproof and warm, what more do you want in a winter glove? Up: they work well, and look good. Down:they Tire your hands out faster from gripping the bar because they're so thick, and they can be tough to get on because of how many layers there are.

the first thing that surprised me about this jacket is how loud it is, but that's because of the waterproofing so you can only knock it so much. the full sleeve liner is very warm, and with all the vents closed this thing traps heat like a boss. i'm not crazy about the cut, however. it's cut for someone with the physique of a cardboard box. for those of us with waists, it's not the best fitting, although it's not bad. i have long arms, and the sleeves actually fit well, which was a nice surprise. most jackets are an inch or two short. the vents, like it says in the video, move some air but not a TON, so it's not a good jacket for the summer heat. i got it for winter riding, and it's perfect for the temp and precipitation of september-may.

I have longer-than-average arms, and these sleeves fit me well. the elbow cinch strap is a nice touch, it's actually just below my elbow. the cuffs and collar are long enough; the cuffs keep my gloves in place, and the collar protects my stupid pale skin from sunburn. it is mesh, so obviously it vents flawlessly. The piping is ridiculously bright at night, and my high viz yellow makes me shine like a beacon. the elbow and shoulder armor are as good protection as any. I'm very happy with this jacket, and will probably get another one just like it but in black next summer.

The vision r is a great lid. The field of vision is amazing... I can barely see the edges of the visor in my periphery. It is stable at speed, and it's not heavy. I've been putting in 2-300 mile days, and I feel fine at the end. Little to no fatigue at the end that results from the helmet. The internal sun visor is awesome, I love it. The helmet is kind of loud, but not bad. My ears aren't ringing or anything after riding for a few hours. The neck roll is a tremendous pain to put back in after removing. For the record, although it won't catch the entire sticky pad, the chin underneath the vent is enough to securely attach a curved gopro mounting plate.

For the price, I was expecting more. The sound quality is very poor. It's clear, so you should be able to know what people are saying, but music is awful and it's grating to listen to GPS voices. It was easy enough to install and set up, though, and it does its job on a basic level. I was expecting more for the price, but it's good enough.

They look good enough to wear with jeans all the time. They're definitely waterproof, I got caught in a rainstorm the other day and my feet were all that was dry by the end. The fit is true to the measurement guide. I suppose they must breathe reasonably well, because I've worn them for days on end and my feet don't get sweat-soaked. the lining is soft enough to wear them without socks, but I wouldn't do that unless you just have to. They'll start to stink.

What riding position is this helmet optimized for?
Aggressive, 3/4 or upright? I wish all reviews had this.
3/4, but it's still stable and moves air upright. I ride a Honda Shadow and this was one of my favorite helmets.

where can i buy the tinted shield? also i have some questions on the safety of the helmet?
if i buy this helmet, will i still be as protected from a crash as a more expensive helmet? or is does it protect less because it's cheaper or just for show? i want to make sure that i am buying a helmet for the safety of it and not just the good looks.
It is dot approved, so it is perfectly safe on the street. You wouldn't be allowed to use it on the track (virtually all tracks require Snell, where this is only dot rated) but it's not like this helmet is a novelty item.

Just curious if it would help any or not, I live in North Idaho and showers spring up suddenly here.
you don't really need to. this jacket has plenty of waterproofing as is, and the collar should be high enough to keep water out of your neckline. i wouldn't bother with taping/spraying anything.

Is the abdomen section of this jacket larger/smaller/ or the same size as the chest?
I am just wondering how boxy this jacket is to get an idea of the fit.
it's about the same size, somewhat smaller. i have a narrow waist and wide shoulders, and it fits well when the cinch straps are tightened down. also, when they are tightened it doesn't bunch up like 20 year old pleated khakis.

Sizing
I measure 23 3/4 at the widest part of my head so I look to be in between LG and XL. Which would one would you recommend?
large. the pads are thin-ish, meaning the sizing of the helmet overall feels somewhat larger than normal. if you're between sizes, i'd say try the smaller of the two.
