I bought this to go in my daughter's helmet for when she rides with me. I have the SMH10 in my own helmet and have used it on several trips with friends. The speakers in the SMH5 are quite a bit smaller than those in the SMH10 and seem to put out a bit less volume before distorting. Their small size might make mounting easier if you have limited space however. Another big difference is the mount itself and installation. The SMH10 mounts fairly cleanly with a single unit that acts as connector, mount and boom. The SMH5 mount is purely a mount. A separate connector wire plugs directly into the control unit to connect the speakers and a boom mic that must be velcroed in place. So far everything seems to be staying put, but it was a trickier install and I could see the plug working its way loose when riding.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this for my daughter who outgrew her old helmet. She's Asian and has a fairly round head and her old helmet was a bit too oval for her. I like the build quality and style of this helmet, it's smaller than an adult shell so it fits her better. Ventilation seems good. Price is great too. The only things I find a bit disappointing are the shield mechanism (a bit fussier than I'm used to with Shoei and Scorpion lids) and the lack of speaker pockets. In my Scorpion EXO-500 there are round depressions in the ear pocket area to mount speakers. While "recessed speaker pockets" are listed as a feature on this helmet, there are no special areas recessed for speakers. I was still able to mount a SENA system in her helmet, but it wasn't as easy or as clean as if it did have these pockets. Otherwise a great lid.
Yes, I recommend this product.
