AGV K3 SV Marco Simoncelli Replica Helmet The AGV K3 SV Helmet builds on AGV's extensive experience in designing the Pista GP and Corsa helmets as well as the legacy of the original K3 helmet. An aerodynamic shell shape is optimized for stability and aggressive aesthetics and features an integrated, compact rear spoiler to reduce turbulence. The narrow chin bar is streamlined to help the helmet cut through the wind at high speeds, further increasing stability. The AGV K3 SV helmet incorporates a drop-down sun visor, making the helmet a tour de force, aggressive street or touring helmet. The K3 is also communication-ready and features speaker pocket cut outs to minimize discomfort caused by Bluetooth speakers pressing into your ears. The AGV K-3 SV Helmet is an excellent choice for any rider who values sophisticated, modern design in a safe and feature-rich package. Features HIR-TH (High Resistance Thermoplastic Resin) shell construction 2 shell sizes 4 EPS sizes optimized using the FEM (Finite Elements Analysis) system Ventilation system was designed and optimized in a wind tunnel 4 front vents (3 at the forehead and one on the chin guard) and 2 rear extractors vents XQRS (X-tra Quick Release System) visor mechanism for tool-free removal and replacement of the faceshield in seconds Faceshield mechanism features PVS (Perimetrical Visor Seal) for improved seal and protection against drafts and wind noise GT 2 scratch-resistant, anti-fog polycarbonate visor with 100 protection from UV rays GT 2 face shield has improved peripheral vision thanks to the specially-shaped profile of the aperture Integrated drop-down Sun Visor (ISV) is scratch-resistant and can be replaced easily and without special tools Removable breath deflector Removable windproof chin strap protection Fully removable and washable 3D inner liner and cheek pads are sanitized and made from Dry-Comfort fabrics Helmet profile has been contoured around the base to reduce the risk of collar bone injuries Double-D ring chin strap ECE 2205 and DOT approved

I've been using my AGV K3 SV for a week now and it hasn't failed me yet. I've gotten positive comments from the guys at work who ride about how great the design is on the helmet. Marco Somoncelli was a fan-favorite. I also own an older K3 helmet that I've had to replace the cheek pads because my face is too round but this newer K3 helmet is more oval and fits closer to round than the previous generation. The first day I used it the fog was thick like chowder and I was at first concerned that the inner and outer shields would fog up. They did not. Also, the ventilation on the new K3 is much more pronounced especially up in the forehead/top of the head area. The chin curtain is much better as well (compared to previous designs). My only gripe is the chin vent button, positioned inside the chin bar. This button is almost inaccessible if you are wearing a winter glove (or regular glove, for that matter). This discomfort isn't enough to warrant looking for a different helmet though. The price and styling give it a great all around feel. I wish i had two more arms so I could give it four thumbs up!

I've waited two and a half weeks to write this review to give revzilla users a useful account of how this helmet fares in different types of weather and the Bay Area weather gods did not disappoint by giving us 80+ degree temps as well as some rain showers to test my new helmet in. I have owned other helmets for the last 15 years and am pleased to note that the quality with sub-two hundred dollar helmets has greatly exceeded my expectations. The interior is not as plush as other high-end helmets but I can hardly feel the difference once it's on (much like contact lenses, once they're on you can't notice). The finish on the matte black is great. I'm not a paint guy but I can't tell any blemishes or gaudy defects blaring at me from the shell. The internal visor is awesome! Not only do you not have to change shields in the middle of the day (or on a ride) but the field of vision with the internal shield encompasses a large portion of my riding focal points. The internal shield actuator is also very easy to find with gloves on. Riding in the rain, the main shield does a good job of sealing itself to the shell to not let any of the outside precipitation into the inside of the shield. The shield also provides pretty even optics through it from side to side viewing. Riding in the rain, the shield does a good job of beading the water up towards the top of the helmet and off the back. I've also ridden in very foggy conditions and the shield is somewhat fog resistant but can easily be remedied by actuating the chin vent or the vent position on the shield lock. The front chin vent really does a good job of venting air into the helmet evidenced by the wind noise present when the vent is opened. The top vents are fairly easy to manipulate with gloves on and provide ample flow of air during warm-ish (80+) days going freeway speeds. I noted that the helmet was slightly loud but this is strictly a nitpick since I ride with earplugs in. I don't mind the slight noise that the vents cause when opened because I've ridden with noisier race helmets. My only gripe with this helmet is the small shield lock. The shield lock doesn't have any positive position placement, other than the vent position, and moves from unlocked to the locked position with freeway-speed winds blowing over it, which isn't really a bad thing but you have to remember that it does that and you need to unlock it before you open the shield at the next stoplight after the freeway exit - otherwise you're trying to open a locked face shield. The EXO-500 is a great helmet with fantastic features (that are useful for the commute) that I'm glad to use everyday as a replacement for my older helmet that cost twice as much and didn't offer as many features (for the commuter).

I've looked into getting protection under my street clothes and i wanted serious energy displacement in case of a get-off. Not only are forcefield armor super comfortable and ultra energy dispersing, they fit under my boot cut levis pretty much unoticeably. Am looking to purchase the pro shirt in the near future.
