REV'IT! Amazon GTX Balaclava The collar of the Amazon GTX balaclava is designed to be worn over the collar of your jacket, to prevent water from entering via the neck. I've had this for about 2 months now, and i've had several chances to try this out in torrential rain. It does it's job really well in keeping water out of your jacket collar. Whats the point in having the best waterproof jacket if it leaks from the top?
Well this is a great solution for riders with that problem. It's comfy, doesn't have any sew seams so you won't have marks on your face when you take the helmet off.
The gore-tex only really starts from your chin downwards but it starts higher at the back of your head. That's good because the top part is comfy and not crunchy like the gore-tex. It fits over any collar and can be tightened from inside. What you don't see from the pictures is a really nice big patch of reflective material behind. The striped type one on all of rev'its gore-tex line. The ears have a nice mesh kinda fabric which is thinner for your helmet speakers! how thoughful, but honestly i don't think there's any difference.
My only problem with this is that it covers your nose so it kinda creates fog inside your helmet. I push it under my nose and after expanding the fabric over extended use it isn't uncomfortable anymore. There's a mesh panel where you breathe through your nostrils supposedly to let air out easier, it doesn't really do the job and it's slightly uncomfortable on my lip when i lower it under my nose because it's stitched onto the rest of the fabric.
All in all, it's relatively comfortable and it does its job. But kinda expensive for a balaclava.

I bought these about 10 months ago together with my rev'it sirocco jacket as i thought they would make the perfect pair.
Well in a way they do, let me say the good stuff first. Firstly they work, they are comfy, wick sweat and keep you cool. As comfy as cotton is, once you sweat in it it's terrible. We're talking about average 90% or more humidity in 95 f. So this does its job and keeps you relatively dry. Of course the mesh jacket helps, but i can say from experience that it's better than cotton. Because i wore a cotton tee just to compare, oh boy, your tee gets wet and your forearms sweat and it has nowhere to go except the jacket liner! So in that sense, it's a great base layer.
Now about the bad side... .it's so fragile! in my 10 months sad to say i've only worn it about 5 times and the right sleeve (only the right for some strange reason) has frayed pretty badly! See attached pic. i don't know what seems to be doing the damage my sirocco isn't especially abrasive in the right sleeve but the entire right sleeve seems pretty worn out from very limited use. It's very disappointing from a very comfy and functional base layer. But at the price i paid i expected much better quality. I hope i am an exception!

I've had these for about a year now, they've held up without any problems. I use these when it's raining or when it's cold. Where i stay it can rain any day of the year so i would say i use these at least once a week.
Stiching in the glove is first class, there are not worn seams anywhere on the glove. It's comfy and the goretex liner is really good. When it rains, and i've been in some REALLY heavy rains with these, they get soaked but you stay bone dry. Now when you get off the bike and you take these off when you are wet, somehow water will get into the liner from the cuff. So unless you're certain you're done riding for the day, don't take these out as far as possible because once it gets moist inside and they get as uncomfortable as wearing wet gloves get.
Also, they are not meant to keep you warm (perfect for my all year round hot humid conditions) so if it does get cold you will feel your fingers get cold fast.
Since it's waterproof it doesn't vent at all but i suppose thats a given with all waterproof gloves.
Protection wise, i think the leather palm is good, not too thick you still have good feel of the controls but of course not as much as kangaroo leather gloves. The fingers are a little thick but definitely not as bad as winter gloves. There isn't a hard knuckle protector that most gloves have, it's a soft cushiony thing but at this price one would kinda expect it.
Unfortunately for me, i'm an 8.5 and i ordered an 8, so it's a little tight in my left hand but i supposed i got used to it. Wish they made half sizes though! Good typical held quality!

I've had these for 3 years now, using them almost daily and though not perfect it is a good helmet which i hope to use for a few more years.
Now on to my review: Well there's some space on the top of my head so maybe it's my head shape so i added some sponge on the top to relieve the pressure from my forehead. Now about that, maybe because mine is a XXL, but the sponge in the forehead area seems too thin. I've recently changed the whole interior set, and it's much better, liking having a new helmet!
The left-right vision is great, but maybe the top to bottom range could be a little bit longer. Maybe the helmet sits slightly high on my forehead, but sometimes i wish i could see a little lower. For example looking at my speed without moving my head. I sit very upright on my St13.
Well the sizing is good, but the helmet shell size is huge. Wish it was a little smaller, i look like an astronaut. And it's a little heavy but then it's a flip up so thats forgivable.
I like how the cheekpads have a recess for speakers. Wearing sunglasses is not a problem with the cheekpads too. About that, a helmet of this price maybe should have an internal sunshade. But then again, that's hard to get right and would add weight.
It vents pretty well, if you tilt your head forward the venting is much better on the top. I can't say if the rear vents work cause i don't notice. The front vents are good but behind a tall windshield, when it rains it does fog up easily.
Flip up mechanism is easy to use and very durable. I dropped my helmet once, but nothing broke except for scratches on my visor.
All in all it's a good solid flip up and i would get it again. Love it, but wished it was a tad more comfy.
Held Air Hero Gloves The gloves formerly known as the Held Air Stream! Palm is highly abrasion-resistant sweat-resistant and colorfast kangaroo leather Back is ventilated mesh (100 polyester with leather detailing Unlined palm Back is fully lined with Kevlar and Cool Max Adjustable Velcro closure at cuff Special step seam prevents pressure points on inner hand and enhances feel Fingers are perforated with mesh sides Hard plastic knuckle protection Side of hand and ball of thumb are reinforced Side of hand and fingers are protected with Superfabric
I've had these for almost a year. They are pretty durable. Although i split a little of the stitching in the pinky without knowing how.
Air flow is great, if only i had less wind protection. Best air flow i've experienced on a leather glove.
Comfortable, these are light and thin. In fact, the kangaroo leather palm is almost too thin for those who are new to kangaroo leather, but the feel of your controls are second to none.
The picture of the grey is under super white lighting, because it's actually darker than that, so much so i thought i received a different colour.
Haven't gone down in them and hopefully won't ever get to crash test them. But i feel confident that the glove will slide rather than catch and tear on the road surface. My only worry would be wrist protection from the impact since they are so thin.
About fit, i ordered a 9 because i measure myself to be an 8.5. They are slightly roomy in the fingers, I think these should come in half sizes!
Great glove on the whole!

Installation was not as easy as the videos on my shoei multitec, but after 20 mins of fiddling, it was great. Speaker and mic placement is important!
Using the standard mount-speaker-mic kit, sound is great and clear and there are no funny interference noises. Music is great, intercom is also great and phone calls are great too. Although making a call using the iphone voice commands can get tricky but that's an iphone problem.
The catch is, you need wind protection or you won't hear much over 100km/hr. Even with wind protection, at touring speeds, the wind takes away all the sound (on my St1300 with windshield all the way up). I tried ear plugs, but then the sound is too soft even at max. Although i didn't try moving the speakers nearer with a spacer, I thought that my ears would hurt.
So i thought the extra mount kit that allows u to use your own earphones was a 2 in 1 solution. 1. It blocks out wind (with your own earphones, mine are foam earplugs by koss, they block noise and sound is great (i'm not picky)) and 2. being able to hear my music with perfect clarity.
Well, as an intercom on this setup - Perfect! my pillion and myself hear each other perfectly at touring speeds! i even have to turn the volume down! But for music....
i use an iphone and there's interference noise because of the bluetooth! it's not loud but it is an annoying ringing sound that hurts when used at extended periods! The noise is constant even when the volume is adjusted. But how loud do you want to listen to your music just to cancel that sound out? According to forums it is a common problem! Sena hasn't replied my emails either :(
My last resort- i used the aux plug to plug my iphone into my sena set. Solves the interference problem but... now i have 2 wires sticking out of my head, ironic since it was supposed to be a bluetooth wireless solution. And i lose the voice commands of my iphone since it behaves purely as a mp3 player. You will miss your "play ____ playlist" or "skip song" voice controls! Oh and you also can't pause- resume the music with the sena buttons. Annoying because when i switch to intercom, my music is in the background but it's distorted! thankfully it is very soft. i'm not too sure but i think i lose the phone functions altogether, but i haven't tried phone calls while touring.
Sigh! If not for the interference when using bluetooth for music this setup would be perfect! But if used as a intercom, it's GREAT.
So when commuting, i use the standard mount as it's easy, no wires and pretty good sound at legal speeds. 10/10
But when touring, i used the fully wired setup and have bear with it. 7/10
Hope this helps anyone when making a decision!

I bought this as a rain glove, and sadly when used in monsoon seasonal rains, it isn't as waterproof as i would think! i didn't feel it while riding, but when i took them off, i realized that the liner was very moist. Pity for waht overall was a great glove. but since i bought this for rain use it really defeats the purpose, i'll be on the look out for another rain glove soon. p.s. i ordered the black/grey combo, and received the all black version, revzilla promptly offered a discount for the inconvenience, thanks guys.
Pros Rugged, leather is nice and soft, Fashionable, Excellent Protection
Cons not as waterproof as it should be, hard to tuck in jackets under gaunlet

Sena SMH10 auto mute for music?
Another question I have is, if while listening to stereo music via a Blue-tooth connection, does the music mute or stop when a VOX intercom conversation is occurring? Thanks in advance for answers.
Yes, music is muted, and re-starts when the conversation is over.. although i don't like VOX, i need to scream or use very funny high pitch sounds to activate it. I prefer the manual press once to talk and press once to stop and resume music.
