Well, pretty standard here. I got a dark smoke for my "Faces" helmet. The clear shield let in wayyyyyyy too much light for day riding, so this is an obvious necessity. Anyhow, get one. they're great.

I've looked and fitted numerous different types of helmets trying to find the perfect fit. I have a 7 3/4" head that's more narrow and oval than round. Anyhow, AZ desert heat requires a super flowing helmet and that's exactly what this is. A million vents and great microfiber fabric on the inside, dries quickly, and unless I've been standing around with it on, my hair is dry and not soaked with sweat as soon as I take it off. That said, the videos say a riding position of fully tucked or 3/4 is best for this helmet. I've even found that it flows extremely well at full upright.
Anyhow, the only problems I've found with it are that it is a bit loud, in the wind or at higher speeds ear plugs or ear buds with music are almost necessary. Also, having an option for a visor without the pegs for the removable screens would be great, they're only slightly bothersome at times. They don't really block the field of vision, but are still something in the sight line.

I just picked up another bike and started researching and researching and researching gear. I had always used Oakley's Standard Issue gloves in the past because they breathed well and I had been down in them and they were still alive and kicking. The one thing I didn't like about them was the velcro strap around the wrist. Picked these up and they are AMAZING. The mesh between the fingers lets air in so my palms aren't ever sweaty. The velcro attachment at my wrist still allows me to wear my watch between my jacket and gloves. And best of all, THEY BREATHE!

What's the difference between this one and the "anti-fog" face shield?
Which is the clear one that comes with the GP Tech? I'm looking to get a darker visor to use for the bright, hot, sunny days here in LA. Would the anti-fog functionality matter in such a situation? Also is there any sort of polarization to these, or would it be a good idea to wear oakleys or something underneath the visor? (I typically wear them when driving my car, but I'm new to motorcycles)
I don't think that you'd benefit from anti-fog functionality in LA, unless it's a super humid day, and if that's the case, open the visor a bit and vent it out. No polarization to the dark smoke, and no need to wear oakleys. The dark color is great. I'm in Tucson, AZ where's it's bright and hot. The only thing I'd be wary of is riding this when it is dark, because it does indeed tint quite a bit! I'd say just grab this one, skip the anti-fog.
