INDYKIWI's Reviews
Firstgear HT Air Overpants The Firstgear HT Air Overpants are great for those days when the heat is on or there is a chance of rain. The removable waterproof liner can be used as a stand-alone pant when you've reached your destination. Large mesh panels provide great airflow, and 2 pass-through openings allow access to the liner or rider's base layer. The long zippers on the sides of the HT Overpant make them easy to put on or take off, even when you keep your boots on. CE approved armor in the knees is adjustable for a custom fit. Two front pockets hold items for handy access. OUTER PANT Classic fit: A more tailored fit Overpant is sized to fit over your clothes simply buy the size you normally wear Mesh-Tex construction made of 600 denier poly and 250 denier mesh Waterproof/breathable zip-out liner that is a standalone pant Adjustable CE armor in the knees Padded hip protectors Articulated knee and seat for maximum riding comfort 2 front pockets 2 pass-through openings for access to inner pant 2/3 length side zip for easy on/off Adjustable side waist tabs for a custom fit Heat-resistant material on inner calf Side reflective panels for night time visibility 10 conjunction zipper for jacket connection INNER PANT Standalone pant that can be used as a destination pant Made of waterproof/breathable nylon 2/3 length side zip for easy on/off Adjustable waist using hook-and-loop side tabs Articulated knee and seat for maximum comfort Easily connect to the outer pant by a full circumference waist zipper and leg snaps

- Firstgear HT overpants integrated well with my Firstgear Rush Mesh Jacket. Makes an easy to get into a 2x piece suit to do general daily commuting that looks good.
- Fully dressed in and out time (including jacket and liners) is about +/- 45 seconds.
- Offers fair protection for the price and functionality. Defiantly not as technical piece of equipment compared to more single layer pants. But there is always a slight trade off.
- Waterproof/windproof liner works well. Easy to get liner in and out. +/- 2 minutes total time. Compact travel size once out.
- In light showers good waterproofing offered. I have not been caught in a big rainstorm yet to see if these hold up to a real test.
- Have about 1,350+ miles in these pants on 70% highway and 30% dirt trails goat tracks. No deterioration at this point. Holding up well.
- Good airflow so you don't get too hot from wearing two layers of pants.
- Only change I would make is to have an adjustment to better hold the knee armor inplace, or a more substantial armor that would wrap around for your knees. (Downfall of an overpant vs. single layer I guess)
