I wanted a shoe that would be functional both on and off the bike. The Moment of Truth fits that and looks good too. I have worn these to bike events and walked around in them for 3 or 4 hours. They are comfortable and look good with jeans. They do not provide total protection but for serious touring I wear boots. These shoes are a good combination of road protection and walking comfort. Very reasonably priced.

This is my third different brand of armored jeans (Sliders & Dainese before Speed and Strength) and these are easily the best. The fit is small so I went up from my normal 36 waist to 38. They are comfortable with good kevlar coverage. The knee armor stays in place and the expanding panels above the knees work to keep the pads in place. Good looks, good kevlar & knee armor. Everything I wanted in a pair of jeans.

Great fit, soft feel and excellent wicking of sweat. I like that they don't come up to my knees. I'm 5'7" and they come just over the tops of my 11" boots. Socks are not the place to buy cheap.

I have size 56 Short and they fit perfectly. I am 5'7" and wear 36/30 Levis. I ride in heat mostly and have been very pleased with the air flow. They are a little heavy when walking but are comfortable on and off the bike. The leather is high quality and the adjustable knee protection is a nice feature. You can't put much in the front pockets but then again why would you want to. Feeling protected and comfortable while riding makes these pants worth the money. Did I mention that they look great too?

I ride in south Florida and was concerned about the air flow and heat with these gloves. After a few weeks of riding with them I appreciate the comfort and protection more that having "tons" of air flow. I have other perforated gloves that flow more air but they just aren't the quality and fit of these. Even on the hottest days these are the gloves I use.

I bought this shield as a replacement for my original clear one. It was very easy to install on the helmet. I decided to get the silver reflector version. It was a great choice for the bright Florida sun. Used with the green sun visor it really makes a difference compared to the original clear one. Less eye strain and fatigue. Also, no problem at night, plenty of visibility.

I bought these gloves for wet and cold riding. Since I live in the Florida Keys it is mostly wet, chilly at best. The price was a factor but with these gloves you truly get what you pay for, high quality. I have only used them in light rain, nothing long term or drenching but the fit and comfort are exactly what I was looking for. I have no doubt they will keep me dry in the worst conditions. I didn't rate the protection & durability "excellent" since I have not tested them in harsh conditions. I have no doubt they will receive that rating in the future.

I bought this jacket to go over my REV'IT Tornado even though it comes with a waterproof liner. The liner is a thermal/waterproof combination that doesn't work for me in the heat and rain showers of South Florida. It is much easier to stop and put on the rain jacket over the Tornado than install the liner for what usually turns out to be no more that 30-45 minutes of wet. The rain jacket covers completely, keeps me dry and hi-viz is what I want in the rain. I don't wear it too long but it works great for the riding I do.

I live in the Florida Keys so I ride in temperatures between 75-90 degrees pretty much all year long. This jacket has great air flow and it is very comfortable. I want protection when it's hot and this jacket has it. Styling is very nice and the quality of workmanship is noticed immediately. I've worn several mesh jackets and this one is by far the best for the money.

Kit J knee guards

I bought a pair of the Dainese D1 Kevlar Jeans last year but did not get any knee armor. I would like to buy some now but am unsure if this Kit J will work. They look awfully big for the pockets in my jeans. I notice the D1s are now titled "armor ready" for the Kit J. Do you think the knee armor will fit in the jeans I already have?

Durabiliity of Tornado textile vs. leather

I'm trying to decide whether to get the REVIT Tornado or a leather jacket like Alpinestars Mert. I'm concerned about the durability of the textile compared to the leather in case of a crash. How does the textile in the Tornado compare (polyester 600D?) compare to leather in abrasion resistance? Also, how does the Tornado compare to the Turbine (Cordura 1000D and Superfabric)? Overall I'm just trying to get the safest jacket I can. I live in Austin TX and would like to get by with one jacket if possible for all seasons (usually it does not get below 50F).
I bought the REV'IT Tornado for my riding in the FL Keys heat. I also have a leather jacket that I some times wear on I-95 or the Turnpike, for everything else I use the Tornado. I'm not a scientist or have tested the durability in a slide down the pavement but I'm sure the leather will hold up better. I know leather thickness is a big factor but I use both, textile and leather. Some days with the humidity even the perforated leather gets to be too much. My philosophy is even if the textile isn't as crashworthy as leather I WILL wear it on hot days.
