Michelin Pilot Power 3 Rear Tires The Pilot Power 3 is the much-anticipated replacement for the Michelin Power Pure tire. The Michelin Pilot Power 3 is an all new high-performance, dual-compound sportbike tire designed for the street or the track. Features New 2CT+ compound on rear tire enhances tread rigidity and cornering stability by extending the harder compound underneath the softer shoulder compound for added cornering stability especially when accelerating out of turns Casing profile optimized for excellent feedback and handling All-new compounds for maximum wet grip up to 4.5 seconds per lap faster on a wet track than Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires Semi slick tread design maximizes contact patch for excellent dry grip - more than 4 seconds faster on a dry track than Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires Excellent longevity - 20 more tread life versus Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires

I purchased this tire with high hopes, coming from the 2CTs on a 07 1krr I WAS brand loyal to michelin.
I installed the 190/55/17 tire at 500 miles. I am now at 3500 miles and i just hit my wear bars. These tires are great in terms of grip and general feel, unfortunately the mileage is horrible. These are advertised to run with a tread life 20% better than the 2CTs, so far this has not been true. I want to try a second set, but I don't want to drop the money on a rear that may not run as long as its predecessor.
I hope Michelin rectifies this as I have spoke with other riders who experienced the same thing. May try after a few more months of the tire being on the market, but as of now I will have to swap manufacturers.
PS - this is all street miles, I have not tried this tire out on the track yet, and unfortunately will not get the opportunity to.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Michelin Pilot Power 2CT Rear Tires Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires add two-compound technology to the already renowned Pilot Power range. While 2CT technology originated in MotoGP racing, Pilot Power 2CT tires are intended for the most demanding sportbike riders, who use their bikes both on the road and for track days. Its tread surface is divided into three separate areas, incorporating two different rubber compounds. This helps provide numerous benefits in terms of dry grip, lean angle, handling and progressive acceleration and braking on wet surfaces. Features Real Moto GP technology from the tire company that has won 15 consecutive GPWorld Championships 20 softer rubber mix on the edges of the tread yields phenomenal cornering grip Unprecedented lean angles 51.2 degrees in the dry on Michelin's test track Precise handling and feedback Lap times within 7 of Michelin Moto GP slicks when fitted on Colin Edward's Yamaha Moto GP bike at Malaysia's Sepang circuit in February 2006 Track Day tire that is equally at home on the road

I installed these tires about 7 days ago so I cant really talk on the tread life.
I was caught in the rain with these and you can feel the difference from my factory tires. When turning you can feel the grip and the bike wanting to turn.
Excellent set of tires, will buy again when its time to replace these.
