 Icon Alliance Ascension Helmet
Icon Alliance Ascension Helmet
Icon Alliance Ascension Helmet Saddened by the state of humanity, she looks on in perpetual sorrow. The imposing sprawl casts a dark shadow across the once verdant landscape. Eden, now reduced to a hive of scum and villainy. A land where even angels fear to tread. The Icon Alliance Ascension Helmet dares to ask is this our darkest hour Evolved refined. Icon has never been satisfied with the status quo - which is why we created the new Icon Alliance helmet. Based on the proven Alliance SSR, this nexgen helmet is fitted with a multitude of key refinements. The first revision is the new EPS liner. We've listened to the customers requests and reshaped the EPS liner into a more oval geometry. This new headform increases rider comfort by slightly elongating the entire inner circumference. Combine this geometry with our removable Hydra-Dry wicking comfort liner and the result is a nearly perfect rider-focused enclosure. To further increase rider comfort, we've revised the entire venting system. Much like a finely tuned motor, we've reshaped and enlarged the intake and exhaust ports for increased airflow. Additional ventilation ports have also been added to the lateral aspect of the helmet to further increase ventilation. The shield itself has been upgraded to Icon's distortion-free Pro-Shield. The Pro-Shield features the ProLock shield locking system, graphic enabled sideplates, fog-free coating, and a no-tools shield change interface. Continuing with our commitment to excellence, the Alliance is constructed with premier manufacturing processes and stringent quality assurance procedures. Features All world standard, meets or exceeds the following DOT FMVSS 218 (US), ECE 22-05 (EUROPE), SAI AS1698 (AUSTRALIA) and SG (JAPAN) safety and testing standards. Does not ship with SAI OR SG Certification stickers unless purchased from an authorized dealer in that country. Injection molded polycarbonate shell for strength Long oval headfoam Wind tunnel tested and refined Molded twin channel supervent for increased cooling Rear exhaust ports prevent heat buildup Removable molded breath deflector reduces shield fogging Chin venting system reduces shield fogging Fully removable/washable Hydradry interior Quick-change for-free proshield with sideplates Prolock shield locking system NOTE Helmet includes an RST Dark Gold faceshield as well as clear.

I purchased the ascension helmet just about two months ago and I love it! The design is even more stunning in person and I haven’t had a day without someone complimenting it. The added shield is a great touch and just adds to the overall look. Icon really out did themselves this time.
I find the fit perfect and coming from an HJC IC-16 the wind noise is considerably reduced. There is great airflow and up to this point I have yet to get hot wearing it, even when stuck in traffic.

For the price these are a great value. They have good airflow and my hands have yet to get sweaty while wearing them. I’ve taken a few bugs/rocks to the knuckles and barely feel the impact. I wish they had some better padding in the palms, but don’t really expect a whole lot for the price.

This was my first riding jacket and I’m very impressed with the quality of Icon’s products. The jacket is made extremely well and is comfortable to wear in all but the extremes. In the late fall/early spring I pulled the liner out and wore a thicker sweatshirt under the jacket and my core stayed warm. I have the full black option and it can be warm when sitting in traffic, but once I’m moving I cool right back down. For full on summer I will be hang this up in the closet and will be wearing a mesh jacket as I want even more airflow. Overall it’s a great jacket and although I hope I don’t have to test out its durability in a crash I’m confident that it will do its job.
On a side note, my mother wasn’t exactly thrilled that I started riding but when I found the little St. Christopher medallion in the inner pocket she calmed down a little bit.

Initially I was looking for a more tennis shoe style boot, but once I tried these on I was sold. I’m a bit on the short side (5’8”) and appreciate the thickness of the sole to give me that extra bit of height for standing at a stop. Once I had broken-in the boots they are reasonably comfortable to wear at my destination, but I do keep a pair of flip-flops at work to change in to. I find that if I wear them inside all day they do get a bit warm. Luckily I haven’t tested them through a crash; they are built well and I feel that if needed they will do their job as intended. The only downside that I have found is that the zipper seems a bit weak and the zipper pull is a bit small. This can be easily fixed if you unbuckle the straps before you zip. Overall, for the price is very reasonable for what you get and I would defiantly recommend/buy them again.
