The Venture Air will actually vent better that the Olympia, but in this case more is not better. In hot dry Arizona air like you ride in, sweat evaporates the moment it leaves your pores. 100 degree air blowing on you will not cool you down, it will heat you up. Sweat cools you by staying in contact with your skin and slowly evaporating. By wearing a jacket or pant that allows the sweat to build up a little and evaporate slower you will stay cooler, at least while you are moving.
The Olympia is also a much more protective pant but both are better than a pair of jeans. The Venture Air would probably be slightly better in colder weather because of the thermal liner.
