Icon D30 Replacement Elbow Pads An advanced, patented polymer, CE-rated D3O impact protectors are the latest advancement in protective armor. D3O impact protectors utilize intelligent molecules that lock together on impact. Because of this, the impact protector can be made thinner and lighter, making a jacket more comfortable and easier to wear. However, this decreased size does not come at the expense of impact protection. Will fit any ICON Jacket that was originally equipped with ICON Field Armor Elbow Pads. Sold as a pair.

Great elbow protection. D30 is the top, in terms of combining protection with the lowest possible profile. I have them in the Roland Sands Ronin and you can't tell they're there.
Also, due to the nature of the D30, they mold very nicely, unlike armor of old.
In short, a no-brainer.

I bought this boot looking for a cool look off the bike that I could wear to work, and give me good riding protection. Beware, the photos you'll see here and, especially on Alpinestars' website, do not look like what you're actually going to get. The photos show a grainier, weathered sort of look that brings out the style of the boot. The boot is actual very typical all black, muting the style details and giving you, in essence, a very average riding boot. As a pure riding boot, you can do better. As a style option, you can do better. Meh.

I give this glove a five because it does what it sets out to do beautifully. As Anthony says, this is not a high protection/performance glove. I love it for riding around the city, particularly if I'm riding to an event where I need style off the bike. Very well thought out. Love the red panel under the zipper. Great pre-curve which means, along with the supple leather, there's no break-in period. Extremely comfortable and very cool. Makes me want to go buy a Thruxton or a V7 just to match the darn gloves! Probably have to settle for the Ronin jacket. ! Terrific product.

Icon 1000 El Bajo Boots El Bajo - literally translated it means The Short One. Short perhaps in overall height, but never in performance or steez. Awesome. You have to dig the Icon aesthetic, which I do. I, personally, feel these look alot better in the brown. The details pop more and the whole thing looks less "leather bar," which the Icon stuff gets close to in some iterations. As Anthony says, they are really stiff. They do work in, to an extent, and are very comfortable in a "work boot" way. People mention shifting being an issue, but these are mostly less experienced riders. Shifting may take some getting used to, but very quick adaptation and it's not an issue. I get tons of compliments and haven't taken them off since I bought them. They run big. I went down a full size from my usual. Seems like they'll last forever. Fantastic job, Icon!

These are my favorite gloves. Oh, and I have alot of gloves. The quality of the leather, the fit, the shaping on the bias, are all superb. The fastening is perfect. The fingertip grips are great. This glove flows more air, ironically, then the also-great Airvolution glove, which I also own. Great "go-to" glove for everything but cold weather. Buy them and enjoy.

I really like these gloves...alot. The Icon style is very cool. Really dig their split knuckle idea. Great example of form and function working together. Extremely comfortable gloves. The leather on the underside is very thin and gives a bit of grip on the levers. The main event is the mesh. Flows air extremely well. Fantastic summer gloves. Beware, however. The mesh is very easier pilled/torn by the velcro. Be very careful. As a result of this, I wonder how long the gloves will last. That keeps it from getting 5 stars. Otherwise, terrific and cool.

Really like the look of this glove and most everything Icon does. They have a great aesthetic. Also, the touchscreen technology really works, works well and is very useful.
However...
The cut of these gloves are bizarre, unless you have unusually long thumbs! Very puzzling. Also, the inside of these gloves feel cheap, uncomfortable and faulty. There is a scratchy material lining the inside of the glove that has not worn in. Also, there are two fingers with some sort of ball at the end that hits your fingers and is, also, very uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, Icon's production quality is not up to par with its design talent.

I'm one of those who has to have style with my functional gear. I really like Icon's aesthetic point of view, and am very interested in the D30 armor.
On the good side, I really like the style idea here, although it's a bit borderline "Christopher Street." The execution of the idea, however, is just not good enough.
The fit of these, and other Icon gloves, is puzzling. I had to go way down to a small to get the glove to not be oversized in the the width of the fingers, but the small is a tad too small. If you buy, be very clear about sizing.
The stitching is sloppy.
I went for the grey, but beware. The actual color is not well represented in the photo. There is alot more blue in the gray which leaves you with an odd color that doesn't really match...anything.
My two cents, Icon should take another shot at this one. Great idea, though.

This glove is, pretty much, perfect. For me, in the northeast, this glove works fall, early winter, spring and early summer. Not a hot summer glove. I even rode these through the whole winter this year...mild as it was and aided by handguards and heated grips. If they are sized right, they will probably feel tight when you get them. My experience was that they loosened up and molded to my hand. They now feel custom-made. Fantastic feel. The best thing I can say is that I forget I'm wearing them. Buy, Ride, Love, Rinse...Repeat.

I haven't taken these off since I bought them. I give them 5 stars because they don't pretend to be highly protective. They do exactly what they say, which is to offer a bit more protection then a sneaker through ankle protection, and reinforcement in the heel and toe box. Dainese uses the same material in the toe box that they use for shift protection on the awesome Cafe Boot, which I also own. This provides great feel and some structure. The material is great and seems like it will last a very long time. The sole works well, providing excellent grip. The lacing solution is smart, easy to use and just works. As Anthony says in the video, these are a great alternative to plain sneakers. I'm a clothes horse and like my moto gear to look good off the bike. This one is a home run.

Generally ICON boots have run 1/2 size small; is that the same for this boot?

Honestly, I'm not sure what my fella "Revzillerators" are seeing. Icon stuff always runs on the large side and its the same with these boots. I went down to an 8.5 on these boots, when I am, customarily, a 9 to 9.5 in others. I've found this slightly larger "American" sizing holds across Icon's line.

Technical differences between Black and Anthracite photos

In the photos the black version has a triangular pull attachment at the end of the laces, but in the photos for the Anthracite it has a snap at the end that fastens to the shoe. Which end do these actually have? I prefer the snap as in the Anthracite version.
It has both. The "pull Attachment" locks in the lace, the snap secures it to the outside of the shoe

how sturdy is the toe box?

Is it just one thin leather layer, or thick and reinforced? I'm concerned that I'll just be crushing my big toe all day while riding and shifting my 1975 honda.
The toe box is covered in a material that Dainese uses in on the Cafe boot. It will provide some structure, definitely pad your feet from shifting but is not highly protective. This material, whatever it is, is very strong and high quality.
