I've got half a dozen pairs of these and love how they feel in the summer. High enough to go past the biggest part of my calf, so they don't creep down below the top of my boots. While not a great choice for when it gets cold outside, in the warmer months, these stay comfy. Last, I've been using these for a couple of years now and they don't seem to wear out--pretty amazing.

This is the third Spectra Shield I've bought in two years. The first one lasted an entire season. The second, about two weeks before getting a nice scratch across the center--don't ask me how, it just sort of magically appeared.
I guess what's important is why I bought yet one more of these ridiculously expensive shields. First, well they look so amazingly cool on my helmet. Second although my version looks like a blue mirror on the outside, on the inside everything is filtered to a slightly dimmed yellow, which is absolutely fantastic when it's bright outside. Last, even at night, the reduction in brightness isn't so great that you can't ride with the visor down, as with some tinted visors.
Still, it is really easy to scratch the reflective tinted coating, so either be very careful with it or know what the next winning lottery number will be.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I'm now on my 21/2 set of Avon Storm II's (the 1/2 is because I snagged a nail about 200 miles into a set, which Avon replaced for me, due to their road hazzard warranty#. A really great all-around tire. It takes curves very well and delivers exceptional feedback for a tire designed for sport-touring. Yes, you can break the rear tire loose in the wet, if you push it hard, but ease off the throttle a touch and everything always comes back under control. In the snow #yes I ride in the snow) the center tread groving gives doable traction; something my previous Metzler Z6's never gave me. Overall, these tires give me all that I can ask for on the street.
For a frame of reference, I ride a modified 2005 Yamaha FJR 1300 with Wilburs rear shock and front springs, Galfer wave rotors with ceramic pads, and a very heavily modded/dynotuned engine. I actually do hang way off the seat going around corners on that big beast--the Avons have never let me down.

I bought a pair of these last fall, just to give them a try--I was tired of the occaisional chaffing at the very top of my harness boots which I wear in the winter. These socks were great. Exceeded all expectations. Super comfy, with the elastic top band coming just below the knee. Warm, but not so much to make my feet all sweaty. These under Kevlar jeans and I don't really need thermal underwear, except in the very coldest of winter days. Oh, and that single pair I bought over a year ago? Well, I still have them, but I now have half a dozen other pairs so that I can wear these every day of the week. I was a bit hesitant to spend $20 on a single pair of socks, but now I think that they were a bargain at that price.

SAS-TEC Back Protector Cutting edge SAS-TEC material is intelligent armor constructed from visco elastic soft foam smart molecules. It has earned the highest CE rating available (CE level 2), during an impact, the armor freezes and hardens, absorbing the shock and distributing its force over a large area to reduce the risk of fractures. The protector is not destroyed by impact, but reverts back to its original state and maintains its capability to protect from multiple impacts. SAS-TEC Armor has a soft and pliable exterior (as opposed to rigid KNOX armor) which offers a great deal of comfort and mobility. This protector is anatomically designed and fitted to provide superior spine and back protection as well as the base of the neck /between the shoulder blades. SC-1/11 fits Women's Turbine Jacket SC-1/12 fits REV'IT! I bought this instead of the CE protector for my Joe Rocket jacket, as it looked like it would provide even better protection on impact than the factory J.R. product (and was quite a bit cheaper). With a little very easy trimming it fit the back protector pouch in the J. R. jacket, and is quite comfy. Hopefully I won't have to find out too soon how well it works!

I've been riding with these gloves in the late fall around Philadelphia for about a month now, and have been overall quite pleased with these gloves. Like all Held gloves, you pay a premium price for a premium product. They're a bit tight around my (quite large) fingers--especially at first--but eventually have broken in to give a good, solid, close-but-comfy grip. They've been warm enough to keep my hands OK on the expressways around 40-50 degrees, but I can tell that they'll be a bit too cool when it drops into the 20's-30's, as i don't have heated grips. For those really cold temps I have some Olympia's which aren't nearly as protective (my guess is that they were designed for snowmobiling), but then again, I typically don't go on log highway rides at below freezing temps. So for my late fall/winter/early spring needs, these Helds seem to fit my needs quite nicely.

OK, first, I have a "Shoei head"--they fit my head shape. I've used them for years. I have a perfectly good X-11, but my AMAZING WIFE bought me the Blue Kagayama 3 X-12 for our anniversary--it matches my FJR1300. Anyhow, I was surprised that I could feel the difference between the X-12 and the X-11. The crown just fits my head more "precisely" than did the X-11. The biggest difference, though is in the visor mechanism. It just snaps into place tighter and the movement detents seem ever so much more refined. I know that's a little thing, but this helmet just exudes precise engineering. As with the X-11, it is feather light, flows really well and is really quiet. It feels a little more aerodynamic too, above 100mph, but the X-11 was no slouch in that department. Overall, I'd say that the X-12 is a nice, subtle, evolutionary step towards building the ultimate motorcycle helmet. One last thing: I don't think a day goes by that I don't get a "nice helmet" from strangers I pass.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this jacket as an alternative to wearing a heavier leather jacket and a rainsuit when commuting (4-5 city miles) on rainy fall and winter days. I tried it out on a cool 45 degree afternoon with just a T-shirt on underneath. In around town riding I was quite comfortable-no chill. I've ridden in the rain a few times now and have been totally dry, although I haven't been riding in any real downpours yet. Fit is hugely adjustable due to the waist cinch straps, but just as with my othe Joe Rocket jackets, I ordered one size larger than with most other brands. The cut isn't quite as fitted as with my other waist-length jackets, but I bought this for the winter months anyhow. Still, for a slightly longer cut, it doesn't look dorky, like some longer cut coats can look (IMHO). So I have a good looking, strong performing, bad weather jacket to carry me through the colder months, AND I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for it--WOO HOO!

These boots aren't cheap, but overall they're a good value if comfort and quality are important to you.
I bought these after I did a number on my achilles tendon and couldn't get into my normal riding boots. These Sidi's were the only ones which I could manage to get my foot into; as I NEEDED to ride I forked out the bucks for a pair of Doha's. Little did I know that they would become my favorite boots to ride in, now long after my tendon has healed. They are super comfortable, and I can wear them on and off the bike all day long. For around town street riding they can't be beat, although for long high speed trips I do put on boots with more ankle protection--still, these are way more protective than non-motorcycle shoes/boots. They look good too, which isn't unimportant if you want an all day shoe like I do.
Sizewise they run about 1/2 size smaller than i normally wear, finding that I took a 12 1/2 instead of a 12.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Summerweight In-town Jacket

I bought this jacket looking for a lightweight mesh jacket with strong protection in the key areas (back, shoulders, elbows). This jacket has more than lived up to my expectations.
The key abrasion areas are reasonably thick perf leather with armor underneath. The stock back protector is of the inflexible hard foam variety, but the more flexible CE protector I had from another Joe Rocket jacket fit perfectly. The mesh pannels are breathable but not quite as open of a weave as other lightweight mesh jackets I've worn--still, it flows a lot of air and is comfy riding in a stop and go urban environment. There are also two convenient inner pockets: one soft cotton one for an extra visor which snakes around your ribcage, and one waterproof chest pocket with a headphone cord pass-through right next to it. The fit is pretty much spot-on in sizing, but the fit is adjustable at the wrists, forearms, and waist, if you need a little custom sizing.
The overall quality is very high. The construction, details, and materials are about as high as you'll find on any jacket, regardless of the price. I was especially quite impressed by the nylon piping used where the leather pannels joined the mesh body--a very nice touch on a relatively inexpensive jacket. It's also nice to know that I can add their Sahara vest for added cooling, should I want to.
I only have two very minor reservations about the jacket. First, I could have done without the rather large white "Rocket" imprinted on the bottom rear of the coat, but it's hard to find any riding gear these days without in-your-face graphics. But really, that's just a matter of taste. The other little quibble I have is that the removable inner rain liner isn't very breathable and gets warm/sweaty quickly. Then again, it does keep the rain out. For a jacket with all of the features that it has, I guess it's pretty unrealistic to ask for a Gore-tex rain liner for less than $200.
Although this jacket is truly just for summer riding, it makes for a great looking, reasonably protective, alternative to that full leather jacket you wear in the colder months.
Pros Rugged, Great Value, Fashionable, Comfortable
Yes, I recommend this product.
