No one wants to put on a heavy pair of riding boots in the middle of summer with the temprature aproaching 100. The Sidi Clever Air Boot is great for summer heat. Maximum ventelation with excelent protection. Easy to get on great fit for me (a little on the narrow side) and a whole lot smarter than sneakers or even worse flip-flops.

Are these boots waterproof?

I am looking for a pair of waterproof summer boots that don't make my feet sweat. I have a pair of TCX Synergy WR boots that I really like, but they are very hot in the summer.
They are not waterproof. They have mesh pannels to increase air flow. It will be difficult to find waterproof boots with summer time vetilation. Big bucks Gore-Tex is your only hope.

What is the circumference of the opening? I have a very wide/thick calf.

The boots have zippers and velcro on the inside. This makes them very easy to get on. The upper velcro can be adjusted to acomodate diferent sixe anckels & caves.
