The 35mm stock cheek pads gave my fish face and were very uncomfortable. It leads me to believe that Shoei does this on purpose in order to get people to buy additional, smaller sized cheek pads.
I came to that conclusion because I had everyone try my helmet and it did the same on them. Even my 100 pound girlfriend whose a twig got fish face and found it very uncomfortable.

With that being said - the 31mm cheek pads fixed the problem - yet it did not make me happy that I had to shell out another $40.00 when I already spent close to $500.00 on a Shoei Helmet.

These boots are fairly inexspensive, and I guess you get what you pay for. I've been wearing them everyday for about two weeks now. So here is my conclusions:
The sole is strong and the stitching is decent. It doesn't look like it will unravel anytime soon. The fit is most definately on the wide side and leaves too much room to wiggle.
My first take on the insole, is that although its comfortable and has much cushion - you loose some stability or balance rather because of the way its formed - and you will need to put another insole in. There is plently of room for that.

The leather around the boot looks hardy and durable and I am pleased about that. I am not thrilled about the tongue, as they most definately skimped on that! Why they did that makes no sense at all! The boot strap itself is also more flimsy than it should be and does not impress me at all.
Overall I do not recommend this boot. The main reason for this is because I do not feel as safe as I have in the past wearing these boots should an incident occur. The best thing about the boot is the style, and that should never be so...

This jacket impressed me upon opening the box! The pictures and even the video review on Revzilla really don't do much justice - this is a jacket you need to buy and wear to fully appreciate.
It is very durable, yet felxible. You can feel the durability of the material and still have full range of motion. It's tough stuff, from the zipper to the multitude of snap buttons - it will take abuse.
You stay cool and warm. The inside lining of the jacket is easily removable and not a cheapo lining. On the hotter days or in the afternoon, the four venting airflow zips keeps you dry and comfortable - and can be adjusted without the zipper moving from its desired position. If you want half vent - it will stay there and not zip down like most other jackets.
The elbow and shoulder pads seem a little larger than they should be, but are rugged and I have faith they will hold up if put to the test.
The only con I found is that it is slightly large at the base of the jacket, but hey - I'm not going to complain. Eventually my metabolism will crash and I might need the extra room.
Finally, the jacket has style! With a pair of leather boots and normal jeans - you look sharp. No more taking the jacket off and carry it with you, stuffing it in a back, or leaving it on your bike. I wear it everyday to my college classes and you'd be suprised at how many positive comments I recieve weekly.
I highly recommend this jacket to any style rider. You get your moneys worth. Buy it and try it!

Although I was a little intimidated by the price of the product, you really get what you pay for! I would have liked to pay less for the really awesome design; but all in all - this is a great helmet. It is a litte snug around the cheeks which is not what you would be expecting; however this greatly improves after the break in period. The noise level is higher than what I'm used too, but will definately keep your noggin cool are all the vents have roughly three positions that really make big differences between temp. and noise level. The best part, it is so light weight, you really forget your wearing it.
The helmet comes with a solid, looks-to-be-long lasting cover which did impress me, as well as easy to remove and insert chin cover and breath cover that is a perfect fit for the helmet size you bought. No universal sizes here! Even the box the helmet came will be great to use when storing over the winter or when moving. Manuals break down every vent, feature, disassembly, and saftey facts you need to know easily.
All in all, I would highly recommend this product - and all Shoei helmets if they are designed like this one. It's durable, well-built, and most importantly - I feel my dome peice is truly safe in this helmet... but lets not test that out.

How to determine optional cheek pad size?
Just purchased a medium SHOEI QUEST helmet with standard 35mm cheek pads which are too tight for the shape of my face. There are 33 and 31mm pads listed but there are no instructions to determine which would provide the best fit. any advice would be appreciated.
I would highly recommend the 31mm if your head is slightly smaller than normal like mine. I too struggled with the 31mm and 33mm decision. I chose the 31mm and I'm glad I did. It seems I made the right choice. If it doesn't fit, you should be able to send them back to Revzilla and get the slightly larger 33mm - but try the 31mm first.

What head shape are these helmets made for?
I comfortable wear an HJC IS-MAX and have a more long oval head as opposed to a strictly round shape. My HJC is a large and does not give me any pressure points on my head. On some helmets, even an extra large doesn't fit correctly because they are too wide but still not long enough inside. Thanks.
I would say they are meant for normal, average heads. What I mean by this is the range between people who have slightly more round, normal , or slightly more oval heads. So if your head is very oval shapped - the helmet will probably not fit your noggin without putting pressure on your forehead. Don't be discouraged though; you could try to swap out the padding for a design that is built for your shapped head with some success. This doesn't guarantee it will work, but is always worth a try.
