The GX Air Series II is a jacket I have been wanting for a couple of years now. I finally bit the bullet and ordered it with a great price from Revzilla. I have several other Tourmaster and Cortech jackets, and this one is different from all of the others. I say that because the others are usually well fitted for summer riding or for winter riding, but not both. The GX Air II is now my all-around, any weather jacket..at least for Southern weather. Two linings that can be removed for summer air flow, add the waterproof windbreaker liner for riding in cooler, wet conditions, then add the quilter insulated liner for those cold mornings, then remove them for the afternoon ride. This jacket is all I need for a variety of riding conditions. Real leather on the shoulders, elbows, and back. Standard reflective piping all around. And of course, super fast shipping from Revzilla. I cannot recommend this jacket more. Ride safe!

I am a big Shoei full-face helmet fan. The shape of my head has always felt best in their lids. I wanted to try a half-helmet for specific riding so I decided to stay with Shoei.
I normally wear XXL in the full face Shoei, however I found that this helmet runs a little big, so I had to return it for an XL that did fit well.
Finish is great, just like any Shoei. The liner and padding is fine and there is plenty of padding in the helmet to protect the cranium.
I was disappointed with the design of the straps and the clumsy D-rings. The strapping is definitely below the quality and grade I expect from a Shoei. The awkward feel of the D-ring as you work the strap through it is less than impressive. There is no fold-back-and-snap feature to secure the excess strap you pull through the D-rings. Shoei needs to put a lot more thought in this design. This is not rocket science.
This is only a half-helmet, so a serious rider would most likely opt for a full-face. But if you are in the market for a half lid, it's worth a look, even if the straps need some afterthought. It does incorporate the legendary Shoei padding and linings, so it has some good attributes that the cheap dog-bowl lids simply do not have.

I had a similar shield for my Shoei RF1000. That was also a good shield, however it did have some minor imperfections in the finish. This one is absolutely perfect in fit, finish, tint, and function. Snaps right on the RF 1100. I love the shade of the tint, not too much, not too little. No distortion whatsoever that I can notice.
I think it is a tad overpriced, but when you consider that it is part of the protection scheme of your helmet for your face and eyes, it's hard to put a price on that. Apart from the functionality of this shield, its looks really super on my RF 1100.
If I had another RF1100 helmet, I would probably buy another.

Remember that when you remove the rain liner and the insulated liner, it creates a lot of room and makes the jacket feel larger. The take-up straps on the arms and those around the waste band can be adjusted to "tighten-up" the fit.
You want a moto jacket to fit tight...you don't want a loose jacket...loose outer clothes will grab the surface and cause you to roll in a crash, plus loose clothes will allow the pads to move away from the joints and areas they were intended to protect.
My wife liked the fit, both with the liners and without the liners. She bought the white and black color combination. She really likes how the nice soft collar feels.
I bought her this jacket for year-round riding...so she can be protected in the summer while at the same time enjoying air flow through the mesh outer shell...and be warm in the winter by zipping-in the two included liners (the rain liner and the insulation liner).

Chrome mirror vs dark smoke, which is darker/better sun protection during the day and which is better during low light/early evening conditions.

The dark smoke is really dark and designed for bright, sunny, daytime riding. If you want a shield that will work best on cloudy days and at dusk, I would not go with a dark smoke. Anytime we choose to use a colored or darkened/tinted shield, it's important that we have a pair of good polycarbonate eyeglasses on if we find ourselves in a situation where we need to ride with the shield partially or wholly in the up position due to low light.
