First impression of this helmet is that it feels wrong. Taking it out of the box, it seems cheap and cheesy. That’s because you probably never held a full face helmet that is this incredibly lightweight. Don’t be misled, this is a high quality item that although not perfect, is top notch stuff; right up there with anything else on the market and probably superior to most. I waited until I put about 3K miles on this helmet before writing a review.
What’s good: VISIBILITY - The huge eyeport gives you an enormous field of vision. Up, down, side-to-side, it doesn’t matter, your view of the outside world is not hampered in any way whatsoever. Put your huge “man of the 80’s” pilot sunglasses on or take them off; no problem. It seems that some of the European manufactures are addressing this lately and it’s a genuine pleasure. VISIBILITY (again) - The second most important reason to wear a helmet is to BE seen and because of that I’ve always been a yellow helmet guy. (usually) This lime green yellow can be seen a mile away. I’ve had comments on it and that’s just fine with me. WEIGHT - The biggest selling point. This thing is light, light light. You ask “What’s a gram here or there?” It’s a gram here or there. It adds up and makes a big difference after hours of riding. I did a 500 mile day and the last thing that bothered me was the weight of the bucket. BUILD QUALITY - That plush lining, the workmanship, the red stitching, the fit and finish of the parts, it’s all good stuff. FIT - Purely subjective stuff. Very comfy. I’ve been wearing it for about ten weeks and never took those funky little stick-um adjustment pad thingys out of the plastic bag. It fit me excellent right out of the box but that doesn’t say that my twin brother would be happy with it.
What’s only OK: VENTILATION & DEFOGGING. It works well enough not to complain. There’s probably better out there and I know that there’s a lot worse. The top inlets are little doors with levers that may be fragile, time will tell but they work well enough and can be operated with gloves on. QUIET. I always wear earplugs and have never had a helmet that I considered really quiet, this one included. I will say though that it is certainly not noisy. FACESHIELD - It’s adequate. Not any fancy stuff here like Shoei or Shark. Detents are just drilled holes riding on pins. It doesn’t glide as smoothly as I would like and the sound is scratchy but works very well. Doesn’t move from where you positioned it under any circumstances. The simplicity lends to the total light weight of the helmet. Faceshield removal is done with aluminum screws so if you’re a switcher, this may not be the helmet for you. It takes some time. Also there is a little black tab riveted on to the lower left side of the shield. This is for raising and lowering AND locking the shield into the fully down position. Teeny weeny parts and snap fit over and over, year after year. Hmmmmmm. Works well enough for now but again, time will tell. Don’t know if it is UV protected or if you can apply Rain-X. A little more information would be nice. (Fact is that NEXX is very stingy on any info at all)
What the jury is still out on: CHIN STRAP. Very comfortably padded with hook & loop to help in keeping it secured but each side is not the same length. The D-rings are almost up inside of the helmet on the left side and there’s quite a bit of fumbling around to get it secured. Maybe I’ll get used to it but I haven’t yet. THOSE FUNKY FOLDING EAR PADS. Parts fell off of them when I washed the interior. (Soaked in Woolite) I don’t like them; they’re almost junk.
What IS Junk: The HELMET BAG - For a helmet that costs over $400, the bag should be MUCH better. It’s where the quality of this helmet stops.
If you're in the market, definitely look over the high end NEXX. You may me pleasantly surprised.

Optimal riding position?
What riding position is this helmet designed for?
The eyeport is so huge, both vertically and side to side that I don't think that that aspect would matter. However, ventilation is surely designed for upright riding. I think that in a crouch you wouldn't get as much air flow. I ride an old Honda Pacific Coast which is very upright and a much newer Honda ST1300 which is semi-crouch. I haven't really noticed much difference. (Both behind something of a windscreen) But something tells me that if you were on an R6 or similar, you wouldn't get adequate flow. Hope that helps.

Negative. The neck roll stays. Even though it's a work of art, I wish i could soak it.
