Bell Custom 500 Helmet In tribute to their founder, Roy Richter, Bell has released a line of helmets based on Richter's 500 design. Hailed by Bell as ground zero for the modern motorsport helmet there is no doubt that this original design formed by Richter himself in 1954 has given rise to an industry. The design is a classic that has been updated with modern protective technology by Bell engineers. By combining a custom fiberglass layup with a specially designed EPS foam layer, Bell engineers were able to craft a helmet that is at once light weight, narrow in profile, and DOT-compliant. The Custom 500 series comes in a variety of styles inspired by custom graphics which suit riders from all points along the style spectrum from understated to flash. These helmets rock with looks that are as good as their performance. Features Custom fiberglass shell Custom-quilted liner Chrome trim (graphic dependent) Integrated snaps for aftermarket shields and visors Padded chin strap with D-ring closure and strap keeper Five-year warranty Certification DOT Weight 880g

The Bell Custom 500 is a fun little lid that gives a modicum safety over a pudding bowl but looks so much better doing so. Paired with Halcyon Mark 9 goggles, this is THE look for a DOT cafe rider (the goggles help tone down the 'Great Kazoo' effect). For a 3/4 helmet, it is surprisingly quiet and at speed the medium stayed put on my 22 inch head. I've heard of the 500 trying to take off on the highway but it stayed snug for me.

Shoei RF-1100 Rollin' Helmet The RF-1100 Rollin' graphic finally offers a retro styled option to the Shoei lineup. AIM+ Shell Construction Aerodynamic properties are maximized through extensive wind tunnel and professional riders feedback High performance fiber materials are combined with extremely elastic organic fibers to create shell structure that is ultra lightweight, rigid and resilient 5 Shell Sizes and six EPS liner configurations present increased fit options that comfortably fit most head sizes A third generation Tail Fin, integrated into the bottom rear beading in combination with the Shell-Integrated Spoiler, allows smooth airflow that reduces drag and lift CW-1 Face Shield The CW-1, three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces Q.R.S.A. (Quick Release Self-Adjusting) Base Plate System Q.R.S.A. base plate allows for tool-less face shield removal and installation. Every time the shield is lowered, the spring-loaded base plate (U.S. patent pending 11/799935) pulls the shield back to contact the window beading evenly, ensuring a wind and waterproof seal between shield and helmet Variable Ventilation System Upper Air Intake Vent is positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet interior Top outlet vent is separate from the Shell- Integrated Spoiler, allowing it to be positioned for optimum flow-through ventilation Four rear outlet vents allow for adjustment of airflow based on riding position Enlarged lower air intake/defroster vent reduces shield fogging and increases ventilation The rear/neck outlets allow for effective air exhaust Breath guard and chin curtain included Interior System The entire interior lining (cheek pads, crown liner and chin strap covers) is easily removed to allow cleaning Each component of the inner liner is ergonomically designed to offer the ultimate in safety, fit and comfort Eyeglass compatible Tech Specs 5 shell sizes Weight 3.54 Pounds / 1604grams (based on size medium / solid color) DOT and Snell M2010 approved Need help with sizing Check out our sizing video or read our Shoei Size Chart for more help. This is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn but I haven't figured out the best way to wear it while on the bike. If I am going under 40 mph and sit upright I get a whistling through the air vents. If I tuck in and dip my chin it goes away until I get up to highway speeds when the reverse is true. With the vents open the air flow is great and the sound otherwise is reasonable. Maybe I just need to go faster.

The Held Warm N Dry Glove is the choice for cold and wet weather riding. With Superfabric, reinforced knuckles, and high quality leather these comfortable gloves do not compromise protection! The Warm N Dry Gloves also work great with heated grips! The palm is thin enough to allow good feel for the controls and allow the grip heaters to warm your hands, while the lightly insulated back helps to hold in the heat and protect your hands from cold rain and windchill. Glove Outershell Glove Lining Membrane Comfort/Features Safety Palm in goatskin Back in stretch fabric (75 polyamide, 15 polyurethane, 10 others) with leather detailing Pique push-pull lining (100 polyester) Upper part in GORE-TEX Thermoplush Fleece (100 polyester) GORE-TEX membrane, waterproof, windproof and breathable (100 polyester with 100 polyurethane coating) Velcro adjustment at wrists and cuffs Stretch fabric parts (100 polamide) on back Visor wiper Hard plastic knuckle protection, covered with leather Side of hand and ball of the thumb reinforced Side of hand reinforced with SUPERFABRIC brand material Double leather at palm 3M-SCOTCHLITE reflector piping

These feel like a second skin and allow for finger dexterity well beyond the competition in this price range. As for the warmth, I've had them on at highway speeds when the ambient temp was 42F and they kept my digits toasty for the first hour. For anything longer, you may want to look for some heated grips or hand warmers to supplement the gloves.

Outlaw versions of Nolan Helmets have a sleeker look with more subtle Nolan logos.

How many shell sizes?

How many shell sizes does the N43E have? I'm exactly between a small and a medium based on the size chart. I'd prefer the small if the shell is noticibly smaller than the medium.

How do you clean the inside? Washable?

Is the inside padding detachable? My concern is how to clean it.
Nope - its permanemanent . But, some shampoo and water will clean it though - just be sure to let it dry out completely afterward.
