I love this helmet and the Nolan blue tooth communication system that fits in it (purchased separately of course).
I do however have one concern in that, I am in Australia and it is impossible to get a Aust/NZ Standards sticker for the helmet and it is illegal to use it whilst riding on the road. If the cops catch you, there is a heavy fine and you will be walking home.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Are there narrower Nolan N104 replacement cheekpads

I just purchased from RevZilla a XL Nolan N104 Outlaw helmet. The existing cheekpads seem to be too large (very tight fit) for me. The XL seems to be the right size, but I cannot wear my glasses with the cheekpads. Are there narrower replacement pads?
I am not aware of any choice of size in the cheek pads. I wear glasses too. However, the helmet is supposed to be tight, particularly at first. Don't worry, it may be uncomfortable (even give you a bit of a head ache) for the first few times you wear it, but you will wear it in.

When you purchase the replacement face shield for the Nolan 103, does it come with removal instructions?

Installation for the Nolan 103?
I believe so, if not the instructions are included in the handbook you received with your helmet purchase.

 Nolan N-Com Basic Kit 2
Nolan N-Com Basic Kit 2
Nolan N-Com Basic Kit 2 The Basic kit is mono compared to the Basic Kit 2, which is stereo. For basic N-COM communication and audio, each helmet must be equipped with a Basic Kit and an N-Com E-box. Includes earphones, a microphone, and two short wires (that hang from the underside of the helmet, and allow you to plug in various devices). The speakers and microphone are powered by the battery in either a E-Box Intercom 2 Kit or a E-box Bluetooth 2 Kit. The Basic Kit along with an N-COM E-box will permit you to listen to your music player, radar detector, GPS unit, etc., and talk on your cell phone, but you must control volume on the source device and answer the phone by pressing the controls on the phone. For connecting to external audio and communications devices, a Multimedia Wire and/or Cell Phone Wire is needed in addition to the E-Box kit. Installs in minutes without any tools or modifications. Please note Requires Nolan N-COM E-Box Read more in our Nolan N-COM Communication System Buyers Guide

how is the volume on this without one of the associated bluetooth kits? I would like to use it wired to my device

I am sure this product will meet with all your expectations. The volume is generated by the strength of the battery rather than the blue tooth connection. If you are only using the Basic Kit, and plugging your device into the input port, your volume will be governed by the strength of the input signal from the device and the battery strength of the Basic kit. Keep it charged and you won't have any problems.

How many I need to buy?

Hi. If I want to talk with passenger, how many of these kit do I need: 1 or 2?

Thanks
You will require on for each helmet. i.e. one basic kit and one blue tooth kit (for each helmet).
A fairly big investment but an excellent product which has worked for me for nearly four years now.
I carry my 15 yr old daughter on the back and sometimes just want to turn it off, but at least I know she is still awake!!!

Basic Kit 2 requirements

Do I need to my the e-box in order to use an MP3 player with the Basic Kit 2? I do not ever plan on using the intercom or mic. I just want to listen to the MP3 player. On the Nolan website, my understanding is NO but Revzilla says YES. Which is it. I do not want to spend another $100 if I do not have to. Thanks
No, provided you have the appropriate stereo output cable for your MP3 device, it will plug directly into the Basic Kit 2 attachment leads.
