Britter's Reviews

Tryonic Feel 3.7 Race Back Protector The Feel3.7 RACE back protector belongs to the top in its class the outstanding balance between CE Level 2 impact absorption and wearer comfort, due to its unique construction, lightweight components and ergonomic features are second to none. The patented Tryonic Vertebra joint system connects the Polypropylene outer shells forming a rigid impenetrable shield and at the same time allowing for an unsurpassed freedom of movement. The EPS inner core ensures maximum energy absorption ( 4kN energy release), well within the CE Level 2 norm ( 9kN energy release). The Feel3.7 RACE is probably also one of the most comfortable back protectors for high activity sports due to the Coolmax mesh in the back. As it performs up to minus 20 degrees Celsius, the Feel3.7 is the perfect choice for a variety of winter sports activities. The main difference with the regular Feel3.7 is that the Feel3.7 RACE has no shoulder straps but only a Velcro waistband as to make it comply with the rules for protection of professional athletes of the international ski federation. Features Outer shell from Coolmax stretch mesh fabric surrounded by thermoformed padding Polypropylene outer shell EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) inner core CE Level 2 (3,7kN) EN 1621-2 standard Ergonomically shaped, follows the contour of the body fluently T.C.F. Tryonic Custom Fit closure system (patented) Coolmax stretch mesh panel Air vent channels in outer shell Tryonic Vertebra joint system (patented) Tested for Winter Sports to -20 C Average weight 768 gr Note The Tryonic Back Protector has different number of segments depending on size.

Fit

True to Size
Large
I purchased this because of the high safety ratings and thought i was getting a unit like the video. The video shows a large with shoulder straps the medium ONLY has the velco stretch wrap around the waist. Anyone who goes to track knows you take down your top between sessions and undo the waist from back protection so you can sit or just move around better. My friend ordered the large, his has the shoulder straps, we compared the top portion of the plate and they are the same. Also the large has much better waist connection system, where the velcro does eat up your undershirt. They use the hard side not the fuzzy side on the top strap, so it rubs against you or your undershirt. Why they would manufacture two different uppers for different size seems odd. Once the leathers are zipped up the back protect stays in place, but i also made the waist pretty tight. The shoulder straps are for off track comfort IMO. I would have paid the $.50 difference they saved by not having them.
If your a large get it, if not wait until they redesign the other sizes. With so many choices in back protection don't get one that doesnt have on and off track comfort.

These are great pants that zipped right into my Helius jacket and look great together. Do your self a favor and throw a tap measure around your waist AND your bellybutton line. Have both numbers ready to give the guys at RZ. Your pant waist size isn't true to Euro size which is millimeters and don't lie on labels. I 31" and 32" in ALL my pants, i actually put a tape around my waist it was 33 3/4". I had to return the first pants for a size bigger. These have a high waist which has good over lap between jacket and pants, which exactly what you want from a 2 piece suit.
My first time using them was for a track day. Little tight at first, but the day was hot and by the end they were great.

These shoes fit true to Euro size. I like the quick on and off that the draw string offers. Very comfortable and lots of protection with out being a race boot. Stiff but no problems walking in them at all.
