We purchased this for my wife to replace another brand. The fit of the First Gear is spot on to the sizing guide. Big thumbs up on that. The cut fits a woman's figure, both in the hips and the chest, w/o being tight or loose where it shouldn't be.
The jacket warms quickly and offers more than enough heat to keep her warm under conditions from 55F to well below freezing while riding her own motorcycle. The infinite control of the Heat-Troller is also very nice.
Every feature of this jacket is well thought out. From the high soft collar to the water proof exterior and the pockets for cords, strain relief for cords, access to the interior of the garment to allow getting to the elements, etc.
Not the cheapest out there, but still a good price on an excellent product.

The First Gear branded Heat-Troller is an outstanding product. Infinite adjustment of heat, easy to use and compact. This is not my first portable H-T unit, but after seeing how well mine works, my wife wanted one too, replacing her other brand gear. We also got a FG heated jacket liner in the WP line for her at the same time.
She is now warmer and happier than before, and with less bulk and more adjustment on the heat range. Our buying experience with ZLA was outstanding as well.

Can the battery be charged from the bike? If yes, during use?

Gerbing's Permanent Dual Temp Controller Two separate heat controllers in the same unit provide two separate heat controls for two different articles of heated clothing, such as for gloves and jacket liner Digital controllers insure that your heated clothing uses only as much power as requested Wires are UL listed and completely safe, in all weather conditions Three-Year Warranty Installs on any accessible panel (some drilling required) Includes complete mounting instructions Note Gerbing's changed the style of the extension cords included with the Temp Controller Kit. The kit now uses a 1 dual extension cord instead of 2 individual cords.

What all comes in the box?

Hi! I'd like to know what all comes in the box with the permanent dual zone controller.

I already own a jacket & gloves (and a portable controller), but with buying a new full fairing motorcycle, I'd like something more permanently mounted.

THanks!
What you see is what you get. The mounted controller has a power cable w/ring terminals and an inline fuse that runs to the battery, (replacing your current pig tail where you plug the portable unit in, or in addition to, if you wish to retain the ability to use the portable unit).

That power cable runs to the controller box which can be placed under the seat or in some other out of the way location, than has cables for each control knob, w/LED light, (red for jacket, green for gloves), that are long enough to locate up front on the dash or fairing where ever you find a good spot.

There are also two power cables that run from the control box to your jacket liner, long enough to be run from under the seat, to either just hang out when being used or to be plugged into a panel mount, (not included).

With the mounted dual zone unit, (not intended to run two jackets, but jacket and gloves), you just have the two power wires that you plug directly into your jacket liner. All you have to do is plug in and your control knobs are mounted on the bike, no more fussing with the portable controller clipped to a pocket or tank bag.

It appears to also come with two co-ax cables that would allow glove use w/o a liner, or heated sock/insoles w/o heated pants.

Will the Gerbing heated gloves fit the tourmaster liner

I didn't know if if plugs worked with different brand
If your Gerbing gloves have Co-Ax style plugs, (round barrel looking), then they will work perfectly with the Tourmaster Synergy liner.

Some very old Gerbing gloves may have used SAE style connectors, (flat two pin stagger plug), that would not be compatible.

I have a Tour Master Epic winter jacket and first gear heated gloves.

Is there a way to attach the synergy 2 jacket liner with the Epic jacket? Also will my first gear gloves work with the jacket's wiring and plugs?
Yes, the Synergy 2 jacket liner has cords at the sleeve ends, (inside small pockets w/zippers), that will plug into the First Gear gloves. The Synergy 2 controller has two lines, and two control knobs, one for the jacket liner,, (and optional pants), and the other for gloves. Only one power wire to the bike, but two power wires from the controller to the jacket liner. The First Gear, (made by Warm-n-Safe), heated gear is fully compatible with the plugs and power requirements of the Tourmaster Synergy 2.0 gear.

You don't need to attach the jacket liner to the Epic Jacket. I am not familiar with that jacket, but the common approach with jacket with removable liners is to remove the factory liner when using the heated jacket liner, using just the heated liner instead. Some jackets have compatible liner zippers that allow using the main zipper of the heated liner to zip in to the outer jacket's liner zipper.

Hope that helps.
