 Icon Contra Torrent Jacket
Icon Contra Torrent Jacket
Icon Contra Torrent Jacket What's black white and red all over - here's a hint, it's not the newspaper. Actually it could be the newspaper, it could also be a zebra in a blender. But we like to think it's the Contra Torrent. Multiple overlaid patterns create visual interruption - confusing and beleaguering the less inclined. Simultaneously, the high tenacity textile chassis and integrated armor componentry cloak the Torrent's occupant in womb like security. Life in the green zone is no place for the likes of the Torrent. Icon sport fit Durable textile chassis Removable icon CE field armor impact protector elbow and shoulder Removable icon dual-density foam back pad Custom printed icon graphics Heavyweight ballistic impact panels Integrated fighter mesh panels for venting Gathered elastic flex panels on elbows and shoulders Ratchet closure waist adjusters Removable insulated wind resistant liner

I'm 5'6" and 130lbs (little dude) and I have this jacket in a Small. I've had this jacket for about a month and it has been great so far. It lets in a TON of air compared to my leather jacket. I wear it with the liner installed from 60 to 75 degrees with just a t-shirt under it and I'm very comfortable. Beyond that I take the liner out and have been fine up to 82 degrees so far but i'm sure it can be comfortable in higher temps. The padding is very comfortable and unobtrusive. The shoulder pads def make their presence known on my slim frame especially from a side profile. On a thicker guy it probably isn't as obvious but I look like a hockey player off the bike. At the same time it does a great job of preventing me from looking like a lolly pop with my helmet on. The quality of the jacket is excellent. The liner stays in place well and the materials are VERY sturdy. I'm not eager to test it, but I feel that this jacket would fare well against a slide down the asphalt.

I purchased this helmet about 3 months ago and I love it. I've never owned a high end race helmet or anything, but this is def a quality piece. It gets a ton of looks from people when I'm out riding and more importantly it has great functionality. The visor does a great job of keeping the sun off your face which would normally reflect back into the shield and cause glare. It doesn't catch any wind at all when you are looking strait no matter how fast you ride.
The shield is great quality and after many insect kills I see no scratches and so far it has been impossible to fog even if I try. The cheek pads are a little tight and at first this was somewhat bothersome. I later realized that this helps keep the helmet from twisting on your head when you check over your shoulder at highway speeds. That is the only time when the visor will catch a little wind. But it is possible to angle your head so that this doesn't happen. There is substantial wind noise at speeds over 55. I ride a naked bike with no wind screen so I'm catching 100% of the airflow, if you have a screen it probably won't be an issue.
The interior of the helmet has a smooth, almost satin feel to it, and is very cool and comfortable. The visibility is outstanding, you really can't see the left or right edges of the helmet. The air flow across your face is excellent. Without the provided air dam in the chin, it feels like a stiff breeze is going over your face even with the shield completely closed. With a clean shield it is very easy to forget that you have anything covering your face at all. I'm not a racer, I'm usually cruising around 60 on back roads and this helmet works perfectly for me. If you commute going 80+, the wind noise and pull when you turn your head may be a little much for you.
