After only having a pair of Draggin Jeans to ride in and getting caught in a cold down pore for 2 hours I decided to invest in another pair of riding pants and fit my riding style.
I had a few friends say they loved their Olympia pants but I settled on the Moto model because it’s more of a year round season pant because of the zip up/down panels for increased air flow.
I have rode in them at 35 to 78 degrees and have no complaints (I will give another review when the VA temps hit 90+). I have also hit light to heavy ride and the water proof liner kept me dry and breathed nicely so I wasn't left soaked in my own sweat.
In other features the leg zippers going up to the hip for both the pants and waterproof lining is a god send. This makes jumping in and out of them quick and easy when boots on. I use these pants to commute as over pants and for long weekend ride just have shorts under them. My waist in jeans is a 33/34 so I jumped to a 36 in the Moto and have plenty of room with jeans or slacks under them (when the rain liner is also in it is “slightly” snug, Not sure what you would expect unless you wanted to wear a wind breaker). The extra 6 inches of hemming material is nice but at 6'5" I could use an extra inch or two. I have low cut boots and I will get taller boots this fall so that’s not a big deal.
I did take out the knee pads because when sitting on the bike the extra padding hit the tank and I didn’t like the feeling but when doing off road rides I will put them back in.

Befote this helmet I had a Scorpion EXO-700. I wanted a quieter helmet that when I had the vents closed I wouldn't hear whistling. I have heard great things from fellow riders with Shoei helmets so I wanted to look at a qwest. I was turned to this model because I wanted a matte black which does not leave figure prints. Also it is quiet for my communication device. The features on this helmet are great and too many to list in this review.
I was a large in my scorpion helmet and that size held true wih this helmet, I just found this helmet also fit nicer and felt nicer.
I have gotten many comments on the look because it is unlike anything out there. You can not go wrong wih this helmet.

After doing weeks for comparisons between different bluetooth communication devices I decided on the Sena SMH10 dual pack for my wife and I.
We both ride and we wanted to be able to communicate as we commute to/from work and for our long weekend rides.
Installation was simple, just attach the base to the helmet which I installed on my Shoei Qwest and to my wife's older Scorpion 700. Charged the main unit, syncing to the iPhone 4S was a breeze, linked both Sena units and we were off.
Communication between Sena units was clear with the helmet visors up or down, I had her ride ahead to test the range and got stuck at a light, she rode head slower and we still kept talking... I couldn't ask for more.
Music quality is great, my only complaint would be the lower bass on some songs maxes the speakers so there is some distortion but sound is still top notch.
Phone communication is more than I can ask for. I actually got my order a day earlier than expected from Ravzilla so I left work early and called my wife. At 65mph I told her I called from my bike and she couldn't believe the sound quality. I am still having issues being able to call using Siri at speed (which is more of a test for me because phone conversations is least of my concerns while I enjoy riding but wanted to add that in).
This weekend I went on a 6hr ride, now the Sena booklet says the unit should be used in incremental weather. Well, I was in light to heavy rain the whole time. Once I got home I wiped off the helmet and unit and detached the main unit from the base and found NO water was close to the connections. I have had this unit for just over a week and still have yet to recharge it so battery life is great too.
With all this and the simple 2 button operation I have no problem saying I will stick with this model and company for a long time.

After a lot of research I decided on this rack system, I believe for 20-30 dollars more I could have got racks that unlocked/removed from the bike for a clean look if you want but if I am not riding with the side cases this rack system also gives protection if I go down either on the road or in the dirt so they work for me.
I use these racks daily with Givi E41 Monokey Keyless Side Cases for commuting etc. I have had 30+ pounds in the cases with no problems or bending to the racks.
My only small issue is the finish could be better because this spring I cleaned off the surface rust and spot sprayed them and they are like new again.

Looking at the Shoei Qwest and the Bell RS-1. Do they fit the same and are they similar in quality?

I can't speak to the fit of the Bell helmets but in reviewing it quickly the Bell you are looking at was designed more for a sport rider which means the vents and aerodynamics work better for a more forward riding position. The Qwest is designed for a more upright riding position. This matters for optimal ventilation etc.

After original set up with my iPhone, does the pairing occur automatically, or is it manual every time you go out?

After you pair your iPhone for the first time all you will have to do is turn on the bluetooth on the phone and then once you turn the Sena unit on you will hear the unit do a tone letting you know everything is linked and ready to go, Its very easy.

What is the best way to install the Sena SMH10 on a Shoei Neotec? Can I use the helmet clamp?
JimL, if the I don't have the Neotec, but I do have the Shoei qwest passage helmet and the Sena SMH10 installed quick and easy using the clamp.
