 Klim Baja Pants
Klim Baja Pants
Klim Baja Pants 2010 Quite possibly the most durable fully-ventilated pant on the planet, the Baja Pant is able to protect the rider fully while allowing massive amounts of air to cool the rider, even in the hottest conditions. Flexible, articulated patterning and moisture-wicking fabrics ensure maximum comfort whether the ride is long or short. Ballistic nylon is placed in high-wear areas and leather panels line the inner leg to protect the leg from pipe heat. I purchased the Chinook pants last year with a focus on fall riding, but ended up wearing them on several hot days - bearable, but not ideal. When Klim went on sale I was able to justify a summer/fair weather purchase. Obviously better ventilation than the Chinook or Dakar, but still a lot of heavy material. Lighter material and/or more mesh would make a cooler pant, but it wouldn't take the abuse I expect of a Klim product. Fit is dead-on, order your jean size. Order the hip pads for another $12 and use tin snips to shape them properly, or spend more for the D30. I use Knox Cross Lite Long knee/shin guards and Sidi Crossfire SRS boots - they all work well together. The only ding would be that the thighs are a bit too baggy - gives you the German jackboot look.

SAS-TEC Back Protector Cutting edge SAS-TEC material is intelligent armor constructed from visco elastic soft foam smart molecules. It has earned the highest CE rating available (CE level 2), during an impact, the armor freezes and hardens, absorbing the shock and distributing its force over a large area to reduce the risk of fractures. The protector is not destroyed by impact, but reverts back to its original state and maintains its capability to protect from multiple impacts. SAS-TEC Armor has a soft and pliable exterior (as opposed to rigid KNOX armor) which offers a great deal of comfort and mobility. This protector is anatomically designed and fitted to provide superior spine and back protection as well as the base of the neck /between the shoulder blades. SC-1/11 fits Women's Turbine Jacket SC-1/12 fits REV'IT! Cayenne Pro Jacket and Turbine Jacket REV'IT Gore-Tex Jackets have different shaped back protector pockets depending on the size of jacket, see the size chart for fitment information SC-1/16 should only be used for XYL or larger Gore-Tex Jackets SC-1/11 Measurements (approximate) Height 15 3/4 Width (at widest point) 13 Thickness 3/4 SC-1/12 Measurements (approximate) Height 19 Width (at widest point) 13 Thickness 3/4 SC-1/16 Measurements (approximate) Height 21 3/8 Width (at widest point) 13 3/8 Thickness 3/4

I bought the 1/11 size to replace the mouse pad quality junk in my Scorpion Master jacket. The 1/11 slides in easily without trimming and stays properly alligned with only a slight amount of "float" - about 1/2 inch verticle and horizontal. Scorpion uses SAS-TEC as its EXO-TEC armor, so this pad just completes the package.

Heidenau K60 Scout Front Tire A true 50/50 dual sport tire, the K60 Scout brings a proven balance of performance on- and off-road. With an improved tread and compound, the Scout delivers better cornering stability and wet weather grip on the pavement, while delivering off-road as well. The chevron style tread pattern is similar to full knobby designs which provides lots of open space between the tread blocks to route sand, mud and water from the contact patch while constantly keeping some rubber in contact with the road as the tire rotates. This tire is a stand-out as it does not sacrifice on-road longevity and adhesion to the pavement for off-road traction. A difficult feat for any tire to accomplish. TL Tubeless TT Tube Type Tire

This is an initial review based on 400 miles of paved riding with K60s on the front and rear of an F800GS. A little noisy, but not too bad. They track a bit on grooved pavement etc. Tractor tread causes odd vibration at low speeds and while braking, but it doesn't effect handling. I haven't tried to scrape the pegs yet, but they feel more than capable at any legal speed or 10mph over (doesn't apply in a reducing radius turn!#. Dry braking is only slightly less capable than stock Scorpion Trails and wet braking doesn't seem to be lacking #only tested on torn-up city streets). Ran them unbalanced for 50 miles and didn't notice significant vibrations, now balance with 1.5oz on each and smooth at 80+mph. Will follow-up after I get them dirty.

The neck adjust has two snaps at about 16 and 17 inches in an XL...I have a 17.5 neck so it snaps, but it's not particularly comfortable. I'm 6ft and 210lbs, 42-44 chest, 36-38 waist, 32-34 inseam - XL jacket and XL pants are perfect. I bought the HiViz/Silver combo, it looks great but could use a bit more color (not MilSpec; trying to get on post/base is not guaranteed). I highly recommend the AirWave jacket and pant combo. RevIt - I'd pay $20 more each to get a snap/zip in windproof liner, then you'd have a perfect jacket.

REV'IT! Airwave Pants The perfect match for the REV'IT! Airwave jacket, these trousers are also great over-pants to wear on top of your jeans during summer commutes. The large air mesh panels allow for maximum cooling, but that's not all they're on and off in seconds, thanks to the long inside zippers. Reflective panels at the lower legs ensure great visibility at all times. Even more, the Knox Flexiform CE-approved armor is located in height adjustable pockets, allowing you to position the armour just the way you like it. Available in classic black or fresh silver. PROTECTION FEATURES Outer shell polyester 600D , PWRshell 500D stretch, PWRshell mesh, polyester rib Visibility laminated reflection at calf Protection Knox Flexiform CE protection at knees , prepared for TRYONIC Seesoft CE-level 1 type B hip protector insert - version RV01 ( sold separately ) ERGONOMIC FEATURES Fit tour fit , regular Adjustability adjustment straps at waist, adjustment tab at ankles Ventilation ventilation panels at legs Features easy entrance zipper at calf, adjustable protector pockets, short connection zipper, elastic at waistband Pockets slit pockets

Darn near perfect. I was on the fence between the AirWave and the Tornado. I went AirWave because every jacket with a thermal liner (and I tried on the Tornado locally) ends up floating around when the liner is out - making the armor useless. The AirWave combo is an excellent product at a great price - top quality for a few $ more than the cheap stuff. Pant closes with a metal hook - the standard for others to match. Knee armor is in the right spot always, no need to adjust after every stop light. I highly recommend.

Obviously paired with E194 - beautifully integrated combo. The asymmetrical design - required by the single exhaust - is not particularly appealing, but necessary for minimal width. Mounts using E194 at the top, Vario mounting holes above exhaust and right passenger peg (?); not sure why they didn't use the Varios on both. Mount is strong enough for reasonable luggage loads and most riding styles, but is not up to serious off-roading or trail crash protection. My E21s don't line-up perfectly with the mounting points, but I think it's the plasic, not the steel that is out-of-alignment.

I bought these to complement the Trekker 46 on my F800GS. The case is much lighter/thinner than the Trekker so it springs a bit when trying to mount/lock it. I sprayed a little silicone lube in the catch and it helped smooth it out. The case is no Trekker but its also 1/3 the price. These are a nice size - great for commuting and light duty touring - and the style compliments most bikes.
Yes, I recommend this product.

E194 purchased with Trekker 46 for my F800GS. Excellent product. You'll need a pair of needle-nose pliers or a girfriend with tiny hands to get all the hardware in place, but once you get the threads started its easy...A 1.5 beer job. The mount blends very well with the lines of the bike and is rock solid.

Givi Monokey Trekker Case 46 liter or 33 liter case constructed from aluminium with black plastic and top opening. Available in two versions, with a capacities of 46 LT (TRK46N) and 33 LT (TRK33N), the Givi TREKKER bags are the perfect solution for the bikes equipped with exhaust pipes on only one side. By affixing the smaller case to the side with the exhaust pipe and the larger on the other side, in many cases you can solve the issue of asymmetry (a problem that you might find using traditional side bags). Thanks to special selectors placed inside the bags, you can convert each version to either to fully open the entire lid or only the uppermost smaller opening (very practical for quickly accessing items from the bag, avoiding any ill timed spilling of the whole contents). Elaborately trimmed in steel foil, these bags are not necessarily specific to just enduro bikes, they can also be a luxurious accessory on the touring bikes. Sold each. 33 Liters 16.2 x 20.7 x 9.5 46 Liters 16.2 x 20.7 x 12.2

I was on the fence about going Givi or going bullet-proof, full welded aluminum. I decided to get the product for the life I live rather than the life I dream...I commute 250+ days a year on my F800GS, and I joy ride as much as my wife lets me (rarely). So, I opted for the Trekker 46 mounted to the E194. Fit and finish top notch. Unit is very secure and I'm not worried about losing it in any situation short of a crash. Will it survive a drop on the trail? Maybe, but it pops on and off in 5 seconds, keeps my stuff dry and looks good. $250-$275 would be a better price point for this case, but you get what you pay for.
Yes, I recommend this product.
