SAS-TEC Back Protector Cutting edge SAS-TEC material is intelligent armor constructed from visco elastic soft foam smart molecules. It has earned the highest CE rating available (CE level 2), during an impact, the armor freezes and hardens, absorbing the shock and distributing its force over a large area to reduce the risk of fractures. The protector is not destroyed by impact, but reverts back to its original state and maintains its capability to protect from multiple impacts. SAS-TEC Armor has a soft and pliable exterior (as opposed to rigid KNOX armor) which offers a great deal of comfort and mobility. This protector is anatomically designed and fitted to provide superior spine and back protection as well as the base of the neck /between the shoulder blades. SC-1/11 fits Women's Turbine Jacket SC-1/12 fits REV'IT! Kept me safe in a low side at low speed. I don''t even realize it's back there after wearing it for a few minutes, and it doesn't really seem to affect ventilation either.
Yes, I recommend this product.

These pants keep you cool, keep you warm, and keep you dry. Whatever the scenario is they meet it. I lowsided in them a couple weeks ago at about 20 mph. There is one small hole in the leg at the bottom where the zipper hit it, but that is it. I actually still ride with them. Granted I upgraded the hip pads, but I walked away from it with no injuries, just sore for a few days. You should buy a size larger than you think.
Yes, I recommend this product.

The Defender GTX sets a new standard in apparel for the adventure and serious touring rider. Every stitch, reinforced. Fabrics which are both lighter and stronger. Superfabric ceramic panels and SAS-TEC armor protect, while huge vents, large pockets, glove friendly pull-tabs, and a great Exkin Air thermal liner complete the package. Every aspect of the Defender GTX was designed for easier use, and more abuse than the competition, period. This jacket forms a recommended combination with the DEFENDER GTX Pants . So I've had this for long enough to feel comfortable writing a review now. I actually low sided in this gear at about 20mph a few weeks ago. Thereare two small holes where the zipper impacted the ground through the materials. Both holes are therefore only in that overlap thing that covers the zipper so no big deal. Other than that it is spotless and I still ride with it. I did upgrade the back protector, but I walked away easily and was only sore for a couple days.
The ventilation is very good. I have riden this jacket in over 100 degree weather and was fine. A mesh jacket will get more airflow obviously, but I feel this is safer and mesh is not a 4 season jacket. My only complaint about the vents is I wish the velcro ones would snap closed, sometimes I find the vents opening on their own accord.
The coldest I've ridden in in this jacket so far is the 50's. I had the insulated liner in and found myself opening vents, so I have no doubt it would be good colder.
The liners keep you very dry, nothing more to say about that.
I was worried that the 360 degree zipper would be uncomfortable, however the way it is mounted makes so I don't even realize it is connected riding or standing.
Overall this has been well worth the money and if it comes time to replace it when it's still around I will probably get another one.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Ok, so I did a lot of taking apart and never road with this helmet because a piece broke off while removing the sun visor. I did find out a lot about it though.
First, the air flow: obviously I didn't ride with it, but from comparing the look to my other helmets I would say the airflow comes mostly from having the helmet open. It has nice deep air channels, but the top vent seems small and there are no exhaust vents on the back.
The interior: I measure right at 23 inches in the head, I have an average shape head and a medium fit well, but may be just a bit too snug. All of the materials are very comfortable and seem to be high quality. In addition there seems to be great effort in hiding snaps behind foam which greatly helps comfort. the 3D liner also has mesh vents on top to help let heat out. All components are easily removed and re-installed. There are also inserts where the sharktooth thing would otherwise be installed.
The sunvisor: It's pleanty dark and comes down far enough on the face to cover the entire field of view. The mechanism is also easy to use with gloves on. HOWEVER, the sunvisor is connected to the lever by a long strip of metal connected to a small piece of plastic which was no glued to the metal. As a result when following directions removing the sunvisor, it popped that little bit of plastic off and I couldn't get it back on. This would easily have been prevented with a drop of glue or having the plastic connector to the sunvisor and metal strip on opposite sides. I hope this is a one helmet case.
The face shield: It seems durable, the field of view is nice and wide, I experienced no fogging while sitting on my couch. It is also easily removed and re-attached.
The chinbar: It has no chin curtain, as it would be in compatible with rotating the chinbar back. Also the directions of the chin vent seem to place as much air on your face as on the face shield. The mechanism rotates pretty smoothly, but I would only do it while stopped until familiar with it, despite the fact that I was able to do it with one hand.
Other thoughts: I can't believe the sunvisor thing was more than a one time slip up, there is too much good work into this helmet. The chin strap could use some additional padding though. Over all construction seems to be very good. I would recommend this helmet to those who prefer open face helmets, but would like the option in bad weather. They also seemed to make a big deal about the weight and how close the shield stayed to the helmet when up. Both are very good, it barely weighs more than my fairly high end closed face and the shield stays very close to the helmet.
In other news I made a helmet review I will upload to youtube which should have a link below if interested, please feel free to watch me stumble over my own words.
Yes, I recommend this product.
