AltRider Crash Bars Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z Now that youre the proud owner of a Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z, you want crash bars to protect it. AltRider's are built from one inch stainless steel so theyll never rust, and feature beautiful hand TIG welds. In designing these crash bars, AltRider went through the trouble of maintaining the hidden connector in the front to yield a seamless system. Why is that important It means the energy of a hard impact on one side can be transferred throughout the bars and to the other side. The three mounts on one side dont have to take an entire impact load instead, it is distributed across six mount mounts so none of them are overwhelmed. All of this is important because the crash bars will not only protect the fairing in the case of a crash, but also the Super Teneres exposed radiator. AltRider also conducted a thorough study to identify the bikes contact points when on its side. This led to a crash bar design that offers a wide contact area between the crash bars and the ground. The other contact points will be the handlebar bar ends, and rear passenger peg protecting the fairing, engine, radiator, and brake and shifter lever. Additionally, AltRider ensured the glove box side panel will have plenty of clearance to be easily removed while bars are still installed. Specifications: Stainless T-304 construction Hand TIG welding 1 inch diameter tubing for strength Height: 15 inches Width: 20 inches Depth: 18 inches Weight: 11.5 lbs

I didn't like the big box look. These are compact and fairly light weight. I pack these along with my Giant Loop Coyote bag and I have plenty of gear and room to spare. There is no way to lock your gear up so you have to keep an eye out if you stop at a store or restaurant.

Putting on and off is a breeze and the bag conforms to whatever you put in it. I like the super tough material so you don't worry about hitting a bush and tearing. Unlike the hard cases, this won't crack and the mounts don't break. The only drawback is having to use seam sealer (provided). It took me three nights to seal all of the stitching.

Easy to use and fit is good. Have to let exhaust cool first which
is to be expected. Has tie down so won't blow away and little stuff for storage.
