I bought this liner without a troller or on/off switch. I've been riding in about 10c weather and found it comfortable on full blast.
It provides plenty of heat and I love how there are heating elements in the sleeves and collar.
I don't think I'll be adding any other heated articles and don't feel I need a troller. I would however add an on/off switch.
I've only tried a blackjack heated vest before this and I would say its a significant upgrade.
Yes, I recommend this product.

how long is the back of the jacket liner?

The back of the Gerbings liner is like a standard jacket. It's not longer in the back.
