Ordered a pair for myself, they came already synched with each other for intercom. The instructions are ok, but you really dont need them because the voice instructions from the unit are easy to follow. FM tuner is easy to use with good reception within the metro area. Takes a while to get all your FM stations preset, but once you have them set, its easy to use while riding. The RDS part of the FM tuner is a little annoying as it sometimes announces the song and artist during the middle of a song. The intercom and phone modules are AWESOME!!!! I couldnt be more impressed with the clarity of the conversations even at normal cruising speeds. I havent tried it aboove about 65 mph yet, but suspect it will be just fine as well. The dual kit I bought came with 2 bluetooth units, but what was impressive is that the kit came with 2 clip mounts, 2 double side tape mounts, 2 microphone and speaker kits for full face helmets, and 2 boom mike and speaker kits for open face helmets. Essentially, you could set up 4 helmets and be able to use the 2 units in any one of the 4 helmets. I couldnt get the clip to attach to my 2 Shoei helmets, so I used the double sided tape option for installation of the units. Once I committed to sticking the unit mount to the side of my Shoei Neotec, the installation only took about 10 minutes to get the speakers and mikes installed. My Neotec was easier to install as the entire liner is removeable, but my Wife's Qwest Goddess was a little more difficult since only the cheek pads are removeable. Both Helmets had recess's for the speakers which is a key. My brother has a Shark without speaker recess and he has had a tough time getting the speakers to fit comfotably without a little helmet surgery. The speakers are relatively thin and fit in my Shoei's perfectly without any discomfort. I havent tried streaming music yet from the ipod, but my brother used his iphone and said the music streaming worked flawlessly. All in all, Im impressed.

Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet Evolving on previous designs, Shoei has revamped its modular helmet style with a streamlined and attractively sculpted shape that conveys the feel of freely moving through the outdoors in the Neotec Modular Helmet. Overall shell size is kept compact by incorporating the internal sun visors open/close mechanism inside all ventilation mechanisms are shaped and positioned in such a way as to reduce any possible drag. A redesigned aerodynamic spoiler also helps to cut lift, reducing neck strain on long, cross country rides. In the Shoei Neotec all these features combine to create a premium helmet that excels in appearance, protection, comfort and performance. The Shoei Neotec Helmet's chin bar is connected to the same axis point and mechanism as its shield, minimizing extra parts. This also enables simultaneous closing of the shield with the chin bar, which is then held in place with an easy-open lock release button. The shield lock system offers secure closure or the ability to keep the shield slightly open to allow for increased airflow. With the Shoei Neotec Helmet, Shoei now includes a built-in sun shield, the QSV-1. The visor tucks neatly away beneath a non-intrusive shell built into the helmets liner, and can be lowered with the easy control of a sliding button. Shoei Neotec Helmet Features Face Shield Features Easily operable lever mechanism Anti-fog, anti-scratch, 99 UV blocking New Pinlock-ready CNS-1 faceshield Wider and taller than the CX-1V that it replaces Includes Pinlock insert 3D injection molding process ensures a distortion-free view Improved Ventilation and Aerodynamics Newly designed vortex generators pull air through helmet 276 more airflow than Multitec Added inlets and outlets Vents are flush against helmet to maintain aerodynamics 5-Ply Shock-Absorbing Fiber Shell 3 shell sizes AIM Multi-Composite construction Lightweight yet strong Shell-integrated spoiler reduces lift and drag during high-speed riding Dual EPS Liner Multi-density EPS for optimal protection Two vents funnel fresh air through the EPS liner Dual liner channels route and disperse air evenly throughout the helmet EPS liner in chin bar All new interior Fully removable 3D interior liner Top center pad is removable and washable Improved cheekpad design allows better fit with eyeglasses Included chin curtain can be inserted into the chin bar to reduce turbulence and noise All Neotec Helmets sold in the US have a double D-ring closure Note Due to manufacturer restrictions, Shoei products can only be shipped to addresses within the United States

Shoei always makes a great product. The finish is excellent (even dropped it on concrete without damage to the finish), the modular action is smooth, there is never a question whether it is locked and engaged, the integral sun visor is smooth and simple to find even with gloves on. I have not installed the pin lock shield yet, but the standard shield does seem to fog in cooler mornings. Im hoping the pinlock will resolve this, but in the mean time, I just have the shield open one notch on the cooler mornings. The can feel the ventilation moving through the helmet when the vents are open, but havent had it out on a hot summer day yet. In addition, the Neotec is top heavy and unbalanced when the chin guard is in the up position, which really isnt a problem since you would never ride with it in this position anyway, once the chin guard is down and engaged, it is comfortable and balanced. I installed the Interphone F5 system within the Neotec, the liner was easy to remove for installation, and the noise level within the helmet is quiet, I can easily hear the FM tuner or clearly communicate on the intercom or the phone. Neotec has built in speaker recess pockets which work fabulous. I would recommend the Shoei Neotec and I would purchase again!
