It was time to replace a well-worn Tourmaster Transition 2 jacket, and I narrowed my selection to a more "upscale" choice in the Aerostich Darien/Darien Light or the REV'IT! Horizon.
Both jackets are top-notch. However, a friend who recently got a Darien let me try it on. Wonderful jacket, but it is thick. I'm sure it is bombproof, but thinking of wearing it above 85F made me sweat.
I selected the Horizon. As I have only 100 miles/one ride with the jacket, and have not yet tested its waterproof membrane, take this review with a grain of salt. The fit and finish is great - quality inside and out. Be aware that the detachable inner liner is not one you would be able to wear standalone. Also note, I am 5' 9", 205 lbs, stocky build. Normally I order a Large - in this case, I ordered an XL and would entertain going even to an XXL. Although the Horizon is supposedly more of an "American" cut vs. other REV'IT! jackets of a "European" cut, to say it is "full, American size" is not accurate. I'd put it halfway between European and American.

I wasn't keen to fork over US$350 for BMW's R1200GS tank bag. As such, I tried a cheaper Cordura knock-off in the Cortech Super 19 (19L) bag. I've been using it for the last year; a fine bag, but with a major design flaw - the securing strap runs down the center. As such, the bag suffers from what many others do - "bag shift" to the left or right of the tank, to the point that it was downright annoying.
Enter Giant Loop's Fandango bag. It is limited to 10L, but upon install feels much more spacious. The design is fantastic. GL has eliminated "bag shift" with its harness. And don't underestimate the practicality of GL's "zip on/zip to side for refueling" design. It's ingenious, it works, it's practical. I am very impressed with this bag. The durability and finish are top-notch.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought these gloves for an upcoming 7,000 mile motorcycle journey through the Pacific Northwest. I live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, and have logged about 300 miles on them via 2 spring rides. The temperature on the first ride was in the mid- to upper-70s, and the gloves were too warm. The second ride, yesterday, saw temperatures in the low-40s to low-50s. It was this ride that I was glad they are insulated well.
As for the gloves' waterproof capabilities, I can't speak to that; however, as expected from Alpinestars, they are very well-constructed. Do note that the sizing does run a bit small. For frame of reference, I typically wear medium or large. I ordered the large, and while they are getting "packed out", they are snug.
In summary, I'm finding them to be good up to 75F. Anything warmer than that, you'll want to have a lighter-weight glove option handy.
Yes, I recommend this product.
