The Pirelli Angel ST front tires lasted me over 13,000 miles/2 years and continue to handle very well in wet and dry conditions. These tires hold up well during my 120 mile daily commute and are a blast on weekend rides through the twisties.

The Sena SMH5 is an entry level headset that delivers the features you need at a price you can afford.
Installation of the Sena SMH5 on my Arai Vector 2 was very easy. I was able to route and conceal the speaker wires under the padding fairly easily. The hardest part was routing the boom mic around the padding. In order to improve the fit of the mic, I may opt to get the wired mic (full face helmet kit) from the Sena website (I didn't see it offered on Revzilla#. The speaker audio quality is fair to good at highway speeds, but I noticed that the way the cloth is stretched over the cheek/ear pad where the speakers are located causes the sound to be directed away from my ear. To rectify this, I am going to try placing the speakers under the cloth on the level foam surface with the additional velcro padding to move it closer to my ears. Depending on what this does to audio quality, I may also end up buying the upgraded speaker kit when it ships from Revzilla this fall.
I noticed when first pairing my phone and the Sena SMH5 that, occasionally, my phone will tell me that not all of the functions were successful pairing - for example "Stereo Audio" may indicate a failed pairing. This is only slightly annoying and is easily rectified by turning the Sena SMH5 off and on again and allowing the two devices to pair. This may not be the Sena SMH5 and could possibly be my phone #Blackberry Curve 9300#.
The jog dial, handy while riding, is quite sensitive and takes some getting used to the control. After a few days of use, I've developed the hand control at speed to raise/lower volume, skip/rewind music tracks, voice commands, and start/end calls. I have not yet paired my Garmin with the headset - that will be my next task once I get the handlebar mount for it.
While the Sena SMH5 does not have some of the capabilities of the more expensive headsets, I have been able to find work arounds. For FM stereo listening, I have been able to track down "Listen Live" telephone numbers and can dial into local FM broadcasts so I can listen along. For receiving text messaging, I installed VLingo on my Blackberry and use that to read me any incoming text messages. Along with this, the only complaint I have so far is not being able to customize what phone applications will override music. In addition to phone calls and intercom, it would be nice to #somehow# program the headset or an app for the headset to allow certain apps can override music. Perhaps this isn't a headset feature, but something that needs to be worked into smartphone apps.
Overall, I love the headset. It has the perfect battery life and capabilities for my 1:15 - 2 hr ride into work. I would only consider picking up something else if I was planning on doing more #longer# road trips.

Arai Vector 2 Helmet - Solid The Arai Vector 2 Helmet is the successor to Arai's hugely popular Vector model. New features for the Vector 2 Helmet include an SAI visor similar to RX-Q and Corsair V which provides wider field of vision. A replaceable interior liner has been modified to improve air flow around the head and to provide a more comfortable fit eliminating pressure points. The ventilation system has been revamped with a larger size switch and larger rear duct which will create 50 more vacuum.. Solid Colors Frost indicates a Matte finish Diamond refers to a metallic finish with metal flake Complex Laminate Construction (CLC) shell that combines excellent shell integrity with light weight Arai's exclusive multi-density, single piece hybrid EPS liner Arai's multi-density EPS liner is like no other, comprised of up to 5 different densities in some models which is molded into a single piece The single-piece hybrid liner and its unique benefit the direct-fused contact area that each EPS call shares with its neighboring cells creates a mutual support - as one cell is crushed under impact, the surrounding cells assist with the energy absorption. (Liner pieces that are simply fitted or glued together cannot rely on such a high-level support bond.) New ACF-2 front intake vent has an oversized intake opening for better airflow, and a sliding-door mechanism to more completely close it Brow Vent Faceshield Ventilation System provides cooling air in upper face area without holes in critical forehead area of the shell or in the impact-absorbing liner material Exclusive removable 5 mm Peel - away Cheek and Temple Pad layer-provides additional level of customization and fitment Extreme peripheral view - same wider field of side to side visibility as the top-of-the-line Corsair V racing helmet (an additional 5mm on each side when compared to to previous Vector model) New tuned rear vent/wing - Air inlets provide improved interior ventilation and heat removal Hyper-Ridge band - newly sculpted lower reinforcement band provides stability and lower center of gravity for a lightweight feeling. Larger side exhaust ports to increase airflow and minimize noise Dual pivot chin vent to direct air to the rider or the shield for de-misting Reinforced shell ridges with integrated side exhaust vents Larger bottom opening for easier on and off Removable/replaceable cheek pads with 5mm peel-away layer Micro-fitting 5mm peel away cheek pad layer first introduced on the RX-Q comes standard on the Vector 2. Gives you the option of a thinner cheek pad set for a custom fit without having to purchase additional cheek pads Expanding on the 5mm peel-away cheek pads, the Arai Vector 2 is the first Arai model to offer 5mm peel away temple pads as well Interior Shape Intermediate Oval - This shape is designed for the rider whose head has a front-to-back dimension that is longer than the side-to-side dimension. This is a neutral head-shape design which tends to fit most riders well. Meets or exceeds Snell M2010 and D.O.T. standards

After getting measured and trying on several Arai helmets, I realized that the feel and fit of the Vector 2 was the one for me.
My head size (22"-22 1/2") is in between a small and a medium. I tried on the Vector 2 in a small and a medium - both fit really well. There were no pressure points near the top of the head - just the cheek pads were extremely firm on my cheek bones.
I ended up buying a Medium. After wearing the helmet for a month, the cheek pads have worn in and I can feel the helmet move back slightly against my face at highway speeds. There is almost no movement at any other time - but I believe I should've originally gotten the Small.
The helmet is very quiet and comfortable to wear. I have no issues wearing a skull cap or balacalva under the helmet.
This is my second Arai - I am an Arai customer for life.

The Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Insert mates perfectly with the Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Shield. This is a must-have addition to your lineup of face shields.
Before buying this shield, I would have issues with early morning fog and condensation on both sides of the standard Arai face shield that came with my Vector 2. After receiving the Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Insert and installing on the shield, the first cold morning ride was great - no more fog, no more condensation. The insert and shield stayed clear the entire ride (1.25 hours, 60 miles).
The Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock shield inserts extend all the way to the seal on the sides - so the field of vision is the same as if I was wearing a regular shield!
I haven't tried them yet, but the Arai Max Vision Pinlock Inserts also come in other tints - yellow, light smoke, and dark smoke. For less than half the cost of a new shield - you can get a tinted insert for your Arai Max Vision Pinlock Shield.
I definately recommended picking up one of the Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Inserts and Shield if you haven't already.

Jumping through hoops to get that new bike onto base While Icon cant help you bypass military regulations, they can help you meet them without looking like a construction worker The Mil Spec vest was designed to pass all military requirements for a mandatory reflective vest No bright orange reflective vest is ever going to win you fashion awards, but if you have to wear one, and you do, it might as well have the style and features that wont make you cringe Removable I.D. holder Adjustable fit Reflective taping (front and back) Storage pockets

This vest does the trick. Has pockets, pouches, and space for badges. Not just great for military but also for civilian government employees needing to ride on a base, installation, or similar property.
Much more stylish than the other options out there. I know the ICON logo is reflective, but I am not a logo guy and could've done with a more subdued advertisement for ICON on the vest.
If you are planning on wearing this over a leather/textile jacket with armor, you may want to consider going up a size. I have a size 54 REV'IT! Ignition jacket and the XS-XL size is almost too small. Fortunately, everything on this jacket seems to stretch and gives me just enough room to zip the vest up.
If you are worried about bugs getting in the mesh - don't be. I've washed the vest twice now - delicate cycle in an High Efficiency Front Load washer - and hung it to dry. Come out bug-free. Dries overnight - just in time for the next morning's commute.

These touring-sized gauntlet-style gloves are great in on cool mornings and in the rain. The additional padding in the gloves brings some more comfort to the stock handlebars and grips I am currently using. They fit well over the top of my REV'IT! Ignition Leather Jacket sleeves.
The only thing I have noticed is that over the last three weeks of use, I have scuffed the leather over the knuckle protector in a few places. These could be improved if REV'IT! would consider using a different grade of leather or alternative material here.
Another outstanding REV'IT! product that just reinforces why I'm going to keep purchasing what they make.

The jacket fits as sized and has a number of outstanding features that makes it a great all around piece of gear to have.
The three layer system is great - the outer shell, waterproof liner, and the thermal liner keep me comfortable no matter what the weather holds. Each layer is small and compact enough to fit in a tank/tail bag or backpack if you need to take them off.
I wish I would've found a jacket like this years ago - I will continue returning to REV'IT! for my gear needs.

On airflow, the liner helps cut back on air on those cold mornings (a nice feature).
I measure up at 29" inseam and about a 38" waist around the middle. I used the sizing chart and ordered a 54 Short. Upon trying on 52 regular length pants and hearing other reviews, I was initially concerned that these pants were going to be too small - so I went up a size. Now that I've worn them and broken them in, I am finding that the Short sizes run a little more true to fit for me. In the future I will have to get a 52 Short.
With respect to comfort and features, now that the pants have broken in and are fitting slightly larger than new, I find that having dual velcro on the pant waistband (like the Gear 2 pants) would probably be helpful. Additionally, a place to connect suspenders to keep the pants from moving or drooping when walking around off the bike would also be a decent additional feature.
All in all these pants are great! I would highly recommend the REV'IT! Gear pants to anyone.
