 Held Steve 2 Gloves
Held Steve 2 Gloves
The new for 2010 Held Steve 2 Glove is a sport-touring glove with a full set of race-tested features. Held has given an old favorite a new look, updates include a gray Kangaroo leather palm. Safety features include metal stud sliders on the heel of the hand, backed up with a Kevlar and Nomex for heat protection and Suprotect padding on the back of the hand. Plus, the Held built in visor wiper on the left forefinger. While this glove is not 100 waterproof, with the waterproof backing it is fair to say the glove is weather resistant Palm in colourfast and sweat-resistant kangaroo leather, 80 stronger than cowhide when measured by abrasion resistance and tear strength. Fingers pre-formed, special step seam gives maximum feel to the hands Rivets underlayed with Kevlar branded fiber and NOMEX for heat protection Velcro adjustment at wrist and cuff PITTARDS special treated leather back (shrinkproof, windproof, waterproof, breathable) with shock-absorbent special SUPROTECT padding Schoeller-DYNATEC reflex and carbon protection at wrist

These gloves have a fairly simple and effective design, top-quality materials, and excellent construction. Held offers short and long fingers, which I required to get a good fit. Generally, I'm quite satisfied. Air flow is low, but hey, it's a solid leather glove. Who cares?
Two quibbles:
1) In the long finger size, the index and middle are long enough while the pinky and thumb are too long. This may be a personal quirk.
2) The left index squeegee rubs against the thumb when grasping the grip. I may remove it partially.
Other than that, I am completely satisfied, and I would buy them again.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Alpinestars Scheme Kevlar Gloves - 2012 Features PU and 3D mesh upper construction Clarino palm construction with PU reinforcements Carbon fiber knuckle protectors Kevlar inner reinforcement Finger flex gussets Reinforced landing zone with built in foam padding Airprene cuff with Velcro flap closure Please Note In RevZilla's opinion, the Scheme Kevlar gloves run about 1 size smaller than other Alpinestars gloves.

Glove Feel

Does the glove feel thicker and/or scratchy on the inside as a result of the kevlar?
How is the air flow, we talking an all season or summer only glove?
Thanks
No, you cannot feel the Kevlar from the inside of the glove. It is sandwiched between the leather palm and the outer riveted patch. The inside palm is one piece of plain Kangaroo leather and the inside back is soft textile.

Air flow is, well, what you would expect from a full leather glove. It's fine. I wear them all summer in Central Illinois.
