Sidi Vortice Boots It was thought that the award winning Sidi Vertigo Corsa boot was the pinnacle of sport boot technology. Until today that is as Sidi is proud to introduce the next step in the evolutionary chain The Vortice. The latest in technology combined with the great skill and workmanship of Sidis Italian based factory technicians blend in a whirl of fresh solutions to satisfy a riders desire for safety and comfort. Constructed of Lorica and is lined with Teflon vented mesh. Only Sidi goes to trouble and expense of creating a multiple liner boot system in its racing boots. Lorica is a composite micro fiber material created from strands that are so fine, each one is less than one thousandth the thickness of silk. When injected with special resins, these fibers act like natural leather skin, but with the addition of better strength, softer texture, lighter weight and better moisture protection. Sidi has added a small elastic panel to aid in a smooth zipper operation as it allows a bit of movement via the elastic as the zipper passes over the riders ankle ball. The rear upper part of the boot is made up of the following mechanisms A) The TECNO CALF TENSIONER mechanism adjusts the leg circumference. Placed in the back of the boots upper, it works through a nylon wire that hooks directly to the shin plate. B) The TECNO SHIN TENSIONER mechanism helps the TECNO CALF TENSIONER close the leg upper on the front part of the boot. The two lateral nylon braces join the ankle joint with two screws that are protected by nylon caps. This system is reinforced with fiberglass, supports the ankle and is easy to replace. This system allows excellent flex movement front-to-back while being firm side-to-side. Tecno Instep Tensioner, a fastening system on the front part of the foot, on the instep. Shock Absorbing Heel Cup Non-vented Shin Plate Gear Change Pad Vortice Slider toe slider is made in nylon reinforced with fiberglass. It is fitted with a new air intake and an innovative alloy insert. Racing SRS Sole all new sole is constructed of a polyurethane and rubber blend.

Large
I ordered these, primarily, to wear to a trackday/riding school, and with the intention of doing more sport riding. I'd been told by a few people that these run true to size, but I found that my heels moved in my normal size, so I dropped down a full size. Now I could probably use an extra 1/8 inch in the toes, but I'm comfortable.
After wearing them on the track, I love them! Best thing I can say about them is that I never noticed them while I was riding. Off the bike, it's true that they're a bit like ski boots, but not really as difficult to walk in as I had expected. And, obviously, you're not buying these to walk miles in.
Only negative is that I found that the boots were a bit looser after each session. I'm not sure if the adjusters are coming loose, or if my leathers are just shifting around as I move on the bike. It's no big deal - they're still plenty tight and wouldn't fly off - just something to note.
One other negative is that one of the adjusters, which work by rotating, bound itself up and wouldn't turn. I just unscrewed it and fixed it myself, but that literally happened the 2nd or 3rd time I put the boots on (before even riding with them). Hasn't happened since though, so I think it was a fluke.
Final note: I went for the more expensive boots for the increased lateral ankle support over the Vertigo and other Sidi boots. I also love that they have tons of replaceable parts. I don't regret spending the extra cash, and if I crash, I'm sure I won't regret it.
Great boots. Expensive, but I have no doubt that they'll protect me if I go down.

Forcefield Back Protector Pro Sub 4 The Forcefield Back Protector Pro Sub 4 is the worlds first Motorcycle back protector to transmit less than 4kn when subjected to the standard CE test. The Pro Sub 4 has been specifically designed to test at under 4kn when subjected to the standard CE test EN1621-2. Just wore this for the first time to a track day/school. Comfortable enough that I didn't notice it during the riding sessions, and didn't notice it being hot. The plastic adjusters on the shoulder straps were on my collarbone at one point, but a quick adjustment solved the issue - the midsection belt is really what holds it in place.
Beware - it is relatively thick. My new leathers were TIGHT without a back protector. After putting this on, the two sides of the zipper were ~6 inches apart in the chest (and ended up requiring a tailor to make alterations). I think any back protector would have required alterations for me, but most would have needed less of a change.
Still, that bulk is, I'm sure, the cause of this protector's excellent CE score. I have no doubt that it would protect me in a crash. Also seems to be excellent craftsmanship.
For reference, I am 5'5", 140, 37 inch chest, and got a size medium. With my small stature, the tailbone protector extends just a bit beneath a leather jacket, and could cause a bit of discomfort on a touring/standard bike, but is fine when tucked on a sportbike.
All in all, highly recommended, as long as you're ok with the extra bulk.

I've had these pants for about 3 months now, and I'm extremely happy with them. I bought them to ride over a business suit on my commute, but also wear them on any ride where I'm going farther than just around town. I've only been caught in rain once in them (I live in SoCal), but they didn't leak. Also, they work great as an overpant, even though they're not designed specifically for that purpose.
I only have two small issues with the pants. First, the knee pads sometimes move away from my kneecaps. I just readjust them when this happens, but I'm not 100% sure it will stay over my knee in an impact. Second, I don't notice a ton of venting from the pants.
All in all, though, I feel way safer when I'm wearing these than when I'm not, and I have no doubt that they'll last for years to come. Klim's customer service, as well as RevZilla's, was great about answering questions, by the way.
For the short guys out there, I'm 5'5", and they work fine for me with no alterations or anything. I'm also thinking that my height may be part of the cause of the kneepad issue.

Absolutely love my boots. Now that they're broken in, I can comfortably wear them all day at work, or out at night, even when I'm not riding. The fit/sizing is the same as my nikes. They feel sturdy enough and provide enough protection that I feel safer, but aren't so bulky that I feel like I'm wearing motocross boots.
Speaking of motocross boots, these may look like them, but are about 4 inches shorter than my Fox mx boots. So if you're looking for full below-the-knee protection (for dual sporting etc), these may not be the right boots. I haven't spent enough time standing on the pegs to know how my feet would feel, but I suspect they'd be sore after a while. Definitely made for the street.
Few small issues: 1) The first pair that came had some stitching irregularities in one of the boots. As always, Revzilla took care of me and sent another pair right away; 2) one of the boots also seemed to have a 'bubble' under the icon shield on the shin. It seemed like the adhesive wasn't holding 100%, so look out for that; 3) it's a thicker toe box, so you may have to adjust your foot placement a bit for shifting; and 4) as another reviewer said, the top of the insole delaminated pretty quickly; not a big deal though.
That said, I'd buy another pair in a minute, and might if I wear these out.

The bad first: as another reviewer said, I found variations between the left and right gloves. The right ring finger is tighter than the left, and the metal/nomex pad is about positioned about 1/8 inch differently on the two gloves.
The good: they're extremely soft and comfortable. After wearing a few times I don't notice the size difference anymore. I rode between 60-80 degrees this past weekend, and was comfortable the whole time. I could feel a good breeze on my hands at freeway speeds, too. Plus they look awesome.

The bad first: as others have said, the bag doesn't have a flat bottom, so it doesn't sit up while you load it. Because the opening is on the inside of the bag (against your back), that means that you have to lay the bag on the ground while loading/unloading. My bag's already pretty scratched from doing that. Not a deal breaker though. I haven't used the helmet holder yet, but can see how the helmet will swing around, like others have mentioned.
Now on to the good. It's super comfortable. The visor holder is nice to have, once you figure out the correct way to put your visor in there. The little waist pack is really nice to have for the things you need often, like wallet, phone etc. I've been able to fit a ton of stuff in here, and will be using it daily for my commute. For that reason, it's also nice to have the laptop compartment (a snug fit for my 15-16 inch work laptop, but keeps it from moving around), and the shoe holders. Reflective piping and logos are nice also.
All in all, I recommend the bag. Just don't be mad when the point on the outside gets scratched from laying it on the ground.

Complaint first: the arming sound is, as others have said, way too loud. It's just a quick beep, but it's loud. If you have neighbors, could annoy them at night. The only other complaint is that when you put the key in to take it off of your bike, the motion makes it start to go off. So It'll beep again then.
Otherwise it works. It's pretty heavy and seems durable, and like I said, it goes off when I touch it with the key, so I'm sure it'll go off if someone tries to move my bike.

I got this for a few reasons: 1) I'm a new rider, so it says "I'm trying hard not to crash on my own, so please don't pull out in front of me and make my job harder"; and 2) I'm riding/commuting in Los Angeles, home of bad drivers.
Does it look cool? No. No it does not. But I feel safer and more visible when I wear it, especially during the morning commute. That's what matters.

So, it's a tinted visor. No issues with switching it out with the original. Obviously it's not quick-change, but no complaints. Fogs up some at stoplights, but from what I've read that is pretty common with the XR1R.

This is my first street helmet and first full face helmet, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I have no complaints so far. No pressure points, and noise is reasonable. Visors aren't quick release, so you have to do 4 screws to change visors; takes just a few minutes. As I understand it, that helps this helmet be incredibly light, which it is.
The first one I received in the mail had a small crack in the chin vent. RevZilla took care of me and mailed another one immediately. Highly recommend.
