This is a pretty good insert especially for air flow. I don't notice when riding with this but I do notice the full Bionic Back Protector with waist strap. And it moves air through it so you stay a little cooler. This doesn't provide as much coverage but it perfectly matches the existing foam coverage. I ordered a Medium for a Medium Alpinestars T-GP-R Air Jacket and the inserts are the exact same size. So it's definitely a necessary upgrade for the cosmetic foam insert, you shouldn't ride without it. I just think you still need a Level 2 protector for track or more dangerous areas.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Pretty straightforward, it's a good face shield. Surprised how much wider the view is coming from an old RF-1000 shield. I found all Shoei shields do scratch (no experience with others) so you have to be careful but I guess that's all face shields. I usually don't wipe them down until I can get them under hot water to loosen up the bugs. Then a quick dry and some Plexus makes them shine.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is a great Level 2 protector. I use it with the Bionic Air Protector depending on where I'm riding. It's definitely hotter because of the strap around your waist and stomach. But it provides much more coverage than the protector inserts. It's very light and well built.
Sizing - I usually wear Medium A/S gear but had to order Small. The waist strap is tight but it's not supposed to be loose. I'm going to probably use this for track duty mostly with the Bionic Air for street use even though it's only Level 1 and doesn't provide as much back coverage. I think you should have both if you ride the street and track.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Sidi Vortice Boots It was thought that the award winning Sidi Vertigo Corsa boot was the pinnacle of sport boot technology. Until today that is as Sidi is proud to introduce the next step in the evolutionary chain The Vortice. The latest in technology combined with the great skill and workmanship of Sidis Italian based factory technicians blend in a whirl of fresh solutions to satisfy a riders desire for safety and comfort. Constructed of Lorica and is lined with Teflon vented mesh. Only Sidi goes to trouble and expense of creating a multiple liner boot system in its racing boots. Lorica is a composite micro fiber material created from strands that are so fine, each one is less than one thousandth the thickness of silk. When injected with special resins, these fibers act like natural leather skin, but with the addition of better strength, softer texture, lighter weight and better moisture protection. Sidi has added a small elastic panel to aid in a smooth zipper operation as it allows a bit of movement via the elastic as the zipper passes over the riders ankle ball. The rear upper part of the boot is made up of the following mechanisms A) The TECNO CALF TENSIONER mechanism adjusts the leg circumference. Placed in the back of the boots upper, it works through a nylon wire that hooks directly to the shin plate. B) The TECNO SHIN TENSIONER mechanism helps the TECNO CALF TENSIONER close the leg upper on the front part of the boot. The two lateral nylon braces join the ankle joint with two screws that are protected by nylon caps. This system is reinforced with fiberglass, supports the ankle and is easy to replace. This system allows excellent flex movement front-to-back while being firm side-to-side. Tecno Instep Tensioner, a fastening system on the front part of the foot, on the instep. Shock Absorbing Heel Cup Non-vented Shin Plate Gear Change Pad Vortice Slider toe slider is made in nylon reinforced with fiberglass. It is fitted with a new air intake and an innovative alloy insert. Racing SRS Sole all new sole is constructed of a polyurethane and rubber blend.

I picked up a pair of these after trying the new A/S SMX Plus. I was disappointed in the adjustability of $400 boots and the ratchet fastener never seated right. It was always at a very high angle and the quality didn't give me confidence. I realized I would not be happy unless I had more adjustability and moved to the SIDI Vortice. If you can afford them, get them. The only thing is they do run small and the footbed is slimmer than A/S. I wear 42 in A/S and had to go to 43 in SIDI. The 42 SIDI was way too small. Also, you will have to wear long socks with these. Unless you wear them very loose, they will rub into your calves. A small price to pay for the fit and protection. Yea, they take a few minutes to put on but are your feet and ankles worth the extra 2-3 minutes? Getting in and out is actually easier than most boots, it's just getting everything locked and adjusted that adds time. Awesome boots!

I wanted to upgrade my RF-1000 and originally thought of going to Arai. I tried ordering the RX-Q in Small but it was way too tight at my forehead. I contemplated ordering the Signet-Q which adds 5mm to the length. After some thought, I decided not to change a good thing and upgraded to the RF-1100 and I'm very happy. Fit is great for a semi-long oval head and fits nice and tight. It will break in for a great fit. Love the replaceable liner and since I ride in hot weather I'll probably stock up and change yearly.
Noise level is still TBD. With all the vents open, it seems a bit nosier than my RF-1000 but I think it's just a different wind noise.
Overall, a great product for the price. Shoei has a great history and I'm not sure the X-12 warrants the extra $200 for a few features. I don't think you can find a better helmet for $400 with proven protection.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I've used the jacket several times now in 80-90 degree weather. The jacket fits well. I'm 5'6" 180 and had to move up to the Medium (I wear Medium to Large in most A/S gear). The flap on the back bottom of the jacket is a big longer then my other A/S jackets but I think that's a good thing. Air flow is average but I think this would be improved if you removed the chest foam since they block some of the front mesh. I've ridden for several hours in 90 degree heat and felt fine. Overall I'm very pleased with the jacket. It gets really good points for styling and removing/replacing foam is very easy. Paired with the Bionic Air Back Protector and Chest Pads, it offers a good level of basic protection for aggressive street riding.
Yes, I recommend this product.
