While a bit bulkier as compared to SAS-Tech, and certainly the factory original foam that shipped with my Rev'It Gear pant, the increased protection afforded may well offset the increased bulk and non-exact OEM fit.

SAS-TEC Back Protector Cutting edge SAS-TEC material is intelligent armor constructed from visco elastic soft foam smart molecules. It has earned the highest CE rating available (CE level 2), during an impact, the armor freezes and hardens, absorbing the shock and distributing its force over a large area to reduce the risk of fractures. The protector is not destroyed by impact, but reverts back to its original state and maintains its capability to protect from multiple impacts. SAS-TEC Armor has a soft and pliable exterior (as opposed to rigid KNOX armor) which offers a great deal of comfort and mobility. This protector is anatomically designed and fitted to provide superior spine and back protection as well as the base of the neck /between the shoulder blades. SC-1/11 fits Women's Turbine Jacket SC-1/12 fits REV'IT! Cayenne Pro Jacket and Turbine Jacket REV'IT Gore-Tex Jackets have different shaped back protector pockets depending on the size of jacket, see the size chart for fitment information SC-1/16 should only be used for XYL or larger Gore-Tex Jackets SC-1/11 Measurements (approximate) Height 15 3/4 Width (at widest point) 13 Thickness 3/4 SC-1/12 Measurements (approximate) Height 19 Width (at widest point) 13 Thickness 3/4 SC-1/16 Measurements (approximate) Height 21 3/8 Width (at widest point) 13 3/8 Thickness 3/4

Huge improvement over the silly foam that ships with most jackets! However, SAS Tech is extremely susceptible to the effects of cool temperatures. Translation: the armor becomes stiff and hard (okay for some things, but not armor!) when the temperature drops. Not a deal-breaker, but ..... should be okay in my Turbine mesh (spring/summer) jacket. Definitely not a winter weather piece of armor.

It's just now starting to 'warm-up' in NC. However, when it does I believe my riding enjoyment will be somewhat enhanced by the wicking, air-flow and interior helmet protection offered by this Do Wrap Sweat Vac. I really like it's non-bulky, slim-fitting design. No irritating seams. Yeah, it might look a bit 'geeky' without my helmet on, but when it's 90+ degrees and 90% humidity, I doubt I'll care what it looks like. My fashionista buddies will have just have to suck it up!

This was not my first choice of pant; I tried locating the Rev'It Turbine pant to match my Turbine jacket ---- no luck as they are discontinued. So, the staff recommended this pant (also a discontinued) as an alternative. I like the combo of leather and mesh. And, because the Rev'It Gear pant uses the same type of mesh as the Rev'It Turbine jacket, they match well. I also like the long waste-to-jacket zipper. What I don't care for is the rather poor quality hip protectors. I replacing them with ForceField, which may (?) require a bit of trimming.
