My first helmet was an HJC CL-15 Large and the fit on my head was not the best. It wobbled side to side and when the wind hit the helmet it pushed the shield towards my face. I felt the large size was right for my head but the pads were just not snug enough. I dealt with the Snell '05 helmet for 6 years. This spring I needed a new, Snell '10 helmet.
Initially the RS-1 caught my eye with it's styling. Undeniably fierce and edgy. Although somewhat pricey, I knew a matte black helmet was for me. But would it fit? My heart sank when I saw the fitment, long oval face. I did some research on webbikeworld on helmet shapes to get an idea of what shape categories helmets were in.
I looked at straight on pictures of my face (front to back) to get an idea of what fit I should get and I determined it to be closest to... an oval! What's interesting is that my old HJC had a round head fit, (again, according to webbike world) which is why it didn't fit right in the first place.
I still had a little doubt that the RS-1 wouldn't fit right with it's "long" oval but I took the plunge and bought a large.
The fit is perfect. Snug, relatively quiet, slightly lighter than my old HJC, and it has great airflow. The chin curtain and breath-guard help a ton in the colder weather, keeping out cold air to a certain extent and keeping the shield from fogging.
The RS-1 fits like a glove for my head.
Anyway, thanks for reading. I hope I could help!
Yes, I recommend this product.
