Full disclosure - I'm not a tech guy. I am as analog as it gets when it comes to electronics. To that end, I have been riding with walkmans, mp3 players, and iPods hardlined into earbuds my entire riding career. I like my music loud, the bass on max, and I would be prone to some impromtu air guitar if riding did't require the use of my hands.
Enter the new bike. When I bought my BMW, it came with a sound system. I figured that I just run it with the external speakers. That worked until my speeds got up over 40 mph. As awesome as I think I am, I also didn't want to subject minivans full of small kids to Slayer when parked at a stop light.
I bought the Sena based largely on the reviews and the first hand experience some of my friends had with it. For the listed price, you really can't go wrong. Once you have your pairings figured out, it mates up everytime without an issue.
Install was easy enough. Pairing your phone, GPS, and music SEEMED easy enough, but BMW's tend to be proprietary and fickle. With some assistance from Sena, I was able to get everything to work.
Sound quality isn't exactly pristine, but you can hardline in some earbuds if it really bothers you. For the price, I'm willing to forgo a little audio quality for the convienience.

I had been riding in a pair of INDESTRUCTABLE Red Wing MC boots for the past 12 years, so new boots haven't exactly been at the forefront of my wish list. The Red Wings are still in great shape...BUT they do not have Gore-Tex linings or any type of TPU protection. Couple that with witnessing my first tib.fib fracture as a result of a crash...and all of a sudden a more technical boot became a fast priority.
I toiled and toiled over what type of boot to purchase. Thanks to the comprehensive boot video provided by RevZilla, I was able to narrow my choices down. Being a former rock star who has sold his soul for a mortgage and two kids, price point was a factor, but not to the point where I wanted to sacrifice GoreTex. I have had other gear equipped with proprietary water proof linings and had less than awesome experiences with it.
The TCX X-Fives seem to be a perfect mix of price point and quality in my opinion. They fit true to size and the waterproofing appears to be top notch up here in Seattle...where it is still consistently raining....in June.
I should move to San Diego.

I have ridden in these pants for a year now, so I feel fairly confident in giving them a fair shake. These pants are first and foremost safety oriented. That being said, they are stiff and take tons of miles to break in...if they "break in" at all.
I have used these pants in all seasons and across Canada, the US, and Mexico. When the temps are 80 degress and below, they are fantastic. When the mercury rises above 80, you will have a micro climate in your nether regions as the pants have no venting. I know that there are other options out there that would address this, but I do the vast majority of my riding in the PNW where the median temps reside well south of 80 (more like 50-60).
I'd buy these again in a heartbeat, provided that they ever break down.

I bought this jacket on the recommendation of a friend who had the original AST jacket. I will admit that I have shied away from Olympia products in the past due to a lame set of gloves I had years ago, but I decided to get over myself and give them another shot. I'm glad I did.
The best feature about this jacket is the venting, hands down. I have evolved into a sort of safety nerd in my advancing years and always ride in a jacket and pants regardless of the temperature. The AST 2 moves air well, thanks in part to the full arm vents and the huge exhaust ports on the back.
Leaps and bounds over entry level jackets I've owned in the past, yet reasonable compared to some elite level jackets. You'd be well served with this purchase.

I decided to go with Revit gloves after talking with a couple of riding buddies. They all seemed to be inpressed with the performance of their gloves, so I figured that it was worth the risk. That being said, those guys all were rocking heavy duty cold weather riding gloves while I was looking for more of a 3 season glove (Spring, Summer, Fall). I decided on the Monster glove based solely on the video review provided by RevZilla. Long story short, they are now my go to gloves.
The ventilation qualities of the gloves are UNPARALLED as compared to other leather gloves. The fit and finish are top notch as well. The only minor glitch that I noted is that I wished they had a slighty longer gusset/cuff.
That being said, when these ones burn in, I'll replace them again with the same thing.
They are only 89 bucks. Well worth the entry price in my opinion.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This GIVI windshield is light years ahead of of the stock one. While there are others out there, GIVI hits the mark with its price point, fit, and finish. For $125.00, you get a marked improvement in wind deflection and overall riding comfort. I stewed and stewed over whether or not to buy it. I should have done it sooner,
