I love my other Klim jacket, a Latitude, but it was just too hot for New York summers. I bought this last week and have been using it for my 26 mile commute into the city. It's a little strange how the liner is completely separate from the jacket, just snapping in at the sleeve ends and the back of the neck. When you put it on with the liner in, it tends to bunch up around the sleeves and requires a few moments to straighten out. That being said, I now keep the liner in my pannier and just pull it out if I am cold or its raining and I need to keep my shirt dry. I am 5' 7" and 165# with long arms and wear a 15.5/32 shirt or 40 suit. I ride a 2011 BMW F650GS, which is a standard upright riding position. The medium fits just right but is a little long on me, but I don't mind the extra coverage. The ventilation is pretty good throughout except in the lower arms. The armor is very soft and comfortable, definitely a step up from what's in my Latitude. In summary, a pricey jacket but the quality can't be beat.

Powerlet Rapidfire Jacket Liner With Dual Wireless Controller Package Powerlet's RapidFIRe Heated Jacket Liner packaged with includes the Dual Wireless Remote Heat Controller. Controller receiver is pre-installed and Pre-synced for your convenience. Powerlet's new RapidFIRe Heated Jacket Liner with CNC (Carbon Nano Core) heating uses Far Infrared technology to provide fast, deep, soothing warmth. Now the warmest liner on the market at 105 watts! Built in stuff sack and no annoying heating wires of any kind! Stay Warm While Riding Powerlet's 105 watt RapidFIRe heated jacket liners pack down to a very small size to fit on the bike when not in use. Not only the warmest heated clothing available, but ProForm stretch panels also make them the most comfortable. We recommend using a temperature controller with the RapidFIRe 105 watt jacket liners. The RapidFIRe Advantage The most unique feature is the heating system that we incorporate into every liner. Using the latest in Carbon Nanotube technology, Powerlet's Carbon Nano Core panels heat quickly and evenly without the hot spots or long heat times other conventional wired garments require. Additionally, Powerlet is the ONLY manufacturer to offer a dual heat setting that permits you to switch the total consumption to not exceed 60 watts. This means those of you who have bikes or vehicles that do not have the electrical output capacity to power a traditional or competitors liner can rest assured that the RapidFIRe line will get powered without draining your battery and leaving you stranded. Additionally, Powerlet once again incorporated the ProForm stretch panels that provide three key advantages non-binding movement, maximum heat transfer and simple sizing. While all three are very important, maximum heat transfer is perhaps the most important. For maximum heat transfer the heated garments must be close to the body. A long sleeve T-Shirt is recommended under the heated liners. A heavier layer can be worm over the garment. Other heated clothing manufacturers provided many sizes to attempt to create a snug fit. This often leads to a more complicated purchase and the potential improper fit if your weight changes. RapidFIRe 105 Watt Jacket Liner Features Dual Heat 105 / 60 Watt convertibility by a simple cable disconnect Wind and water resistant Polyurethane coated nylon outer shell ProForm stretch panels provide comfort and simple standard sizing Ultra thin design provides comfort and small storage Comfortable heated Polartec fleece collar wicks moisture Zippered pockets manage power cables Handy built in stuff sack allows for storage on the vehicle Unique sleeve finishing reduces bulk around wrists Glove connectors are located at the ends of the sleeves Heated on the front, back arms and collar - Full heat coverage Quick heat time of 20 seconds or less on the jacket liners Designed For A Lifestyle Powerlet designs heated garments for people who rely on their heated clothing for both comfort and safety. Like our customers, we enjoy a lifestyle utilizing convenient modern electronics and wear our heated gear for commutes to work and trips across the country. Built For A Lifetime Powerlet seeks the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. All of our heated clothing products are developed and tested in the USA by people who ride regularly. Quality components and attention to detail ensure Powerlet products resist wear and corrosion to last a lifetime. All Powerlet RapidFIRe heated clothing carries a lifetime warranty on the electrics and a lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects.

I bought this liner to wear under my Klim Latitude jacket. I am 5' 7" and 165#, and wear a medium Klim jacket. I was advised to go with a small Powerlet liner. I wear a long sleeve T-shirt or polypro turtleneck for a base layer, and it fits very snug on me. I used the wire harness that came with it, which installed pretty easily on my F650GS. I am using the wireless controller, which I mounted to the left side of my windscreen so that I can easily adjust it while riding. I did not use the velcro that came with it since it seemed too weak, so I bought some Scotch heavy-duty fasteners (like on the back of your EZ Pass) and that works great. The liner works well and keep my chest & arms toasty down to about 35F. It makes riding in the cold a lot more fun.

I like to ride in cold weather, but my Shoei Qwest helmet would fog from the moment I put it on. Before my pinlock, I could never close the visor completely or my view would be fully fogged over in 30 seconds. I bought the pinlock visor and the clear lens insert and it was like night and day. I was riding this past weekend (mid-February) in 35-40F temps, and the pinlock lens remained completely clear. The small border of plastic around the pinlock lens was literally dripping in condensation but the lens itself was perfect. Although my Qwest helmet fits great and is very quiet, I was getting very unhappy with its original visor because of the fogging issue. With the pinlock lens it's a 100% improvement. Count me as a very satisfied customer.

I really liked my Shoei Qwest helmet, but it fogged like crazy in cold weather. Every time I stopped at a light, the whole inside would cloud up. I removed the old shield and put this one on its place, with the clear Pinlock insert (separate item). Problem solved. I ride in 35-40F weather with the shield closed and there's no fogging at all. No appreciable darkening of my view either. Amazing -- it does just what it's supposed to do!

I was about to buy a Cayenne Pro or Sand jacket, but when I tried on the Klim Latitude, I knew immediately this was for me, for several reasons. First off, it immediately feels like a high-quality jacket from the moment you put it on. The material is really solid, and the design sensible. It doesn't have a lot of gimmicky fashion features like many of the other jackets. The armor is good quality and you don't need to immediately upgrade the back armor like on many other brands. But what I like the most is the shell philosophy. Unlike many of the other all-season jackets you'll find here, this is just an armored, waterproof shell. Yes, it's an expensive shell, no doubt. But frankly, I'd rather spend my money on a really solid, well-waterproofed (Goretex) shell and use the warmth layers I already have. As a skier, I have all the base and mid-layers I will ever need. I can mix and match those as needed for the weather, and use this for wind and waterproofing and armor. I've been wearing it with a zip-neck base layer and a fleece sweatshirt in 35-40F weather here in New York and have been completely comfortable. Frankly, the idea of a jacket where the water-proofing is built-in to a removable underlayer just doesn't make sense to me. With the Klim, the waterproofing is always there, bonded to the shell itself. It's Goretex, so it's guaranteed not to leak for life. Finally, the jacker just looks great. I can hardly wait to get the matching pants, as soon as my bank account recovers!
