It was time for me to replace my 12-year-old warm weather moto boots. When I found out that Sidi came out with a new line of vented boots, I was very interested in the traffic air boot. I currently own a pair of Sidi racing boots for the track and sidi bicycle shoes for the road; I’m an obvious fan.
After putting 400+ miles on these boots, her are my comments and thoughts:
They are very easy to slip on and wear, no issues wearing them all day, the only advice I’d like to offer is that you should check your size. These boots are European sized, I’ve always worn a size 44 in the sidi line but this boot runs a tad snug. I went with the 45 without any issues. This boot has a molded upper, a bit stiff when you first wear them but hey break-in nicely. Here’s an important point; if you’re going to wear these for a long period of time, wear a thicker sock, the toe box may bother your toes. Also if you’re sensitive, these are a shorter boot, wear tall sock so that the top outer edge of the boot does not bother or rub your shin.
The first feeling you get form wearing these boots is the air moving through your feet, a great sensation. Also remember that if you have a full fairing bike, you will get some heat coming from the engine through the boots. I ride on a naked bike and they’re great. The other little plus is that there is no need for a boot strap on the back of the boot, this means that when you ride or walk, your pants will not get caught on the strap needing an extra adjustment so that your pants lay flat.
This boot has a great vibrum sole with plenty of support and there is also ankle protection, but remember this is a shorty boot- the top height is about 4” above your ankle. The boot also has 3 reflective dots that can be seen at night by other drivers.
I highly recommend these spring/summer/fall boot to all-just make sure you get the proper sizing and fit.
