Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet Evolving on previous designs, Shoei has revamped its modular helmet style with a streamlined and attractively sculpted shape that conveys the feel of freely moving through the outdoors in the Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet. Overall shell size is kept compact by incorporating the internal sun visors open/close mechanism inside all ventilation mechanisms are shaped and positioned in such a way as to reduce any possible drag. A redesigned aerodynamic spoiler also helps to cut lift, reducing neck strain on long, cross country rides. In the Shoei Neotec all these features combine to create a premium helmet that excels in appearance, protection, comfort and performance. The Shoei Neotec Helmets chin bar is connected to the same axis point and mechanism as its shield, minimizing extra parts. This also enables simultaneous closing of the shield with the chin bar, which is then held in place with an easy-open lock release button. The shield lock system offers secure closure or the ability to keep the shield slightly open to allow for increased airflow. With the Shoei Neotec Helmet, Shoei now includes a built-in sun shield, the QSV-1. The visor tucks neatly away beneath a non-intrusive shell built into the helmets liner, and can be lowered with the easy control of a sliding button. Shoei Neotec Helmet Features Face Shield Features Easily operable lever mechanism Anti-fog, anti-scratch, 99 UV blocking New Pinlock-ready CNS-1 faceshield Wider and taller than the CX-1V that it replaces Includes Pinlock insert 3D injection molding process ensures a distortion-free view Improved Ventilation and Aerodynamics Newly designed vortex generators pull air through helmet 276 more airflow than Multitec Added inlets and outlets Vents are flush against helmet to maintain aerodynamics 5-Ply Shock-Absorbing Fiber Shell 3 shell sizes AIM Multi-Composite construction Lightweight yet strong Shell-integrated spoiler reduces lift and drag during high-speed riding Dual EPS Liner Multi-density EPS for optimal protection Two vents funnel fresh air through the EPS liner Dual liner channels route and disperse air evenly throughout the helmet EPS liner in chin bar All new interior Fully removable 3D interior liner Top center pad is removable and washable Improved cheekpad design allows better fit with eyeglasses Included chin curtain can be inserted into the chin bar to reduce turbulence and noise All Neotec Helmets sold in the US have a double D-ring closure Be sure to check out our Shoei Neotec Review above, in which we detail and break down all of the features and functionality of the brand new Shoei Neotec Helmet. This is a fairly expensive helmet, but in my opinion, it is well worth the money. Here are some of the attributes that I like:
Noise - very quiet, especially in comparison to my other helmet - a Nolan N43E.
Vents/Air Flow - exceptional! Terrific air flow across the top as well as from the chin vent upward! For once, I can actually feel a breeze on top of my head! At highway speed, I can compromise between noise and ventilation by adjusting my electric windshield (BMW R1200RT) to get more flow into the top scoop of the helmet. The increase in noise is usually very little.
Visibility - very good in side-to-side as well as vertical. What is really outstanding is the optic quality of the shield. Again, for once I can raise the shield to any of the many stops and still see through it with no (or virtually no) optical distortions. The sun visor comes down far enough so that the bottom edge is not distracting. More important, the sun shield can be stopped anywhere along its track - very handy when the sun is, say, in front at 11 0'clock high and you prefer to have maximum visibility ahead.
Comfort - very plush liner, and of course the fit will differ for different people, but this helmet fits me perfectly.
My SENA SMH10 fits on this helmet very easily, but the noise lever through the speaker is much lower than when installed on my other helmet. In hind sight, I think that I should have removed the foam liner from behind the ear-piece cover, after I had installed the speakers! I will do that later.

I would rate the video quality at 5 stars, but would give the battery life a three stars at best!
I had been considering the Hero3 Silver, but bought the black since I wanted the remote (not included with the silver edition). I have been "playing" with the camera for several weeks now, and find that the video and sound quality to be excellent. The battery was rather disappointing! Fully charged, it doesn't last anywhere near long enough. Adding the battery backpack helped with a little more record time, but still not enough. OTOH, the battery backpack came with the skeleton back door, which allows one to connect a mini USB cable to the aux. battery while the camera is recording. This should work very nicely, but I have not tried using the wired set-up yet.
In hind sight, if I was buying this camera again, I would buy the Silver Edition, forgoing the remote. I would use my iPod, with the installed GoPro App. as a remote.
No, I do not recommend this product.

My biggest difficulties in buying boots in the past had been finding ones that will fit my high arches. Typically, I needed a wide size, and laced up type, otherwise my feet won't be able to even fit into the boots!
I am glad that I read another review on this boot, where the reviewer had the same problem that I have, and he had said that this boot fits nicely. He was absolutely correct! I usually need to buy a (US) size 8, wide. This TCX boot, in the (equivalent) size 8 fits perfectly. Very comfortable. My arches was a little tight going in, but once they are in the boots, the fits were perfect. I expect that after the boots have broken in, I won't even have the initial tightness slipping into the boots.
Yes, I recommend this product.
