Heidenau K60 Scout Rear Tire A true 50/50 dual sport tire, the K60 Scout brings a proven balance of performance on- and off-road. With an improved tread and compound, the Heidenau K60 Scout dual sport tires deliver better cornering stability and wet weather grip on the pavement, while delivering off-road as well. The chevron style tread pattern is similar to full knobby designs which provides lots of open space between the tread blocks to route sand, mud and water from the contact patch while constantly keeping some rubber in contact with the road as the tire rotates. This tire is a stand-out as it does not sacrifice on-road longevity and adhesion to the pavement for off-road traction. A difficult feat for any tire to accomplish. TL Tubeless TT Tube Type Tire Please Note Tire size 150/70 -17 has a solid, center band rather than the staggered tread pattern pictured (see below). Tire size 150/70-18 has a less pronounced center tread stagger (see below). Please Note The K60 Scout tread pattern will vary depending on tire size.

This is my second set of K60's. The first had the original rear tread and ran out at about 8,600 miles with the front tread remaining with about 50%.
Remember it is a 50/50 and is excellant at it...
No one makes a 100/100 tire.
Put your earplugs in and enjoy the ride on any surfice...

These were recommended by the on line rep to match with my Arai XD-4.
The OTG fits over my prescription glasses, sun & standard.
Works for me...
I'll use them for skiing and snowboarding too.

This is my first Arai XD.
With miles of no-helmet laws and then the Nolan-103 I decided to add the XD-4 to the mix.
Preparing for a R1200GS Spring Adventure to Baja and the XD seems like the best choice for this style of riding.

As advertised. Winter riding required repositioning the controls on the Gerbing Jacket.

Heidenau K76 Rear Tire The Heidenau K76 is an Adventure / Dual Sport tire for both on- and light off-road use. The wide tread block arrangement and balanced rubber compound provides excellent traction and foul-weather grip for the road, while allowing you to peel off tarmac and attack the fire road.

Last summer, after running out a set of K60's I was not able to find replacements. I went to the K76's hoping the K60's would arrive prior to my departure to the Arctic Circle in mid June. With a thousand miles on them and still no K60's, I left San Diego fully loaded for the Alaskan Adventure on the trusty '09 R1200GS.
We ran in all road and weather conditions expected, from highway temperatures of 104 degrees to mud and slim as low as 34 degrees, and rain more days than not with one 8o mile section in blinding squalls.
The rear tire was changed out at 7,200 miles of GS'n with full gear at 845 lb GVW rider included.
Tire pressures were adjusted for on and off highway recommendations.
The front tire will see 9,000 miles and then the K60's will be mounted for the Baja Adventure.
