I bought a cable lock because I am paranoid about my Arai Vector Phil Read Replica helmet. With this lock I can loop the cable up through the helmet view port instead of just through the chin strap dogs and feel that it is as safe as it can be. By this I mean that the casual thief won't get it. If, however, the thief is really serious and has a pair of bolt cutters, that's another story. Other style locks attach just through the chin strap dogs and these dogs can be cut off with a sharp knife. With the cable retracted, this lock is light and compact and fits easily in a jacket pocket.

I just recently got this boot and am very impressed. First, they fit perfectly. I wear a size 11, but my feet are shaped like swim fins. So I got the 11 WIDE. Right on! They were very comfortable right out of the box. No break-in period required. Second, they are flexible enough to easily feel the toe shifter and brake pedal. Third, they are light weight. I've been wearing Justin boots and the Tour Master is noticeably lighter. Fourth, I have only worn them in mild temperatures, so can't comment on how they perform in temp extremes. Fifth, I haven't worn them in the rain, so can't comment on how water-proof they are. I can say, though, that the overall workmanship is very good. At this point my impression is "why pay more"? What more will you get for paying another hundred bucks for a so-called premium brand? More longevity? Perhaps, but I would not bet on a lot more. Also there are boots that may look more "cool", but I don't care if I look "cool". So far these boots have exceeded my expectations. I didn't give it a five-star rating only because nothing is perfect. But do I have any complaints? None so far.

I bought the Arai XD-4 because I have been so pleased with my Arai Vector. The Vector - size XL - fits perfectly. So I bought the XD-4 - size XL - as I had decided to try "adventure" riding. Unfortunately, when ordering "on-line", one cannot try a helmet on before buying. What I found when it was delivered is that the shape of the XD-4 is not the same as the shape of the Vector. The opening at the bottom of the XD-4 is narrower than that of the Vector. It was difficult to put on and nearly impossible to take off without removing one's ears in the process. I do not have an unusually wide head, so it makes me wonder who the XD-4 was designed for. Once it was on, the fit was fairly good. Taking it off, though, was difficult and painful. In spite of the Arai quality, it was necessary to return it.

This is my first Tour Master product. After trying to wear a popular European jacket which fit like a body cast, the Transition 3 was a very pleasant surprise. I am 5'-10", 205-lb., 37" waist and have wide shoulders (I lift weights). Everything about the fit of the jacket - size XL - is first rate. The materials, workmanship and style are first rate. I have read critical reviews of Tour Master jackets as having tight cuffs - and they are a bit small - but I have medium/small hands, so no problem there for me. Plenty of secure pockets. Zippers are the right size - not too big, not too small. The blend of hi-viz yellow and black is just right - very noticeable, but not overpowering. The armor holds its position well. Riding in 50° weather without the liner is quite comfortable. I haven't ridden in colder weather - yet. Also, I haven't ridden in the rain - yet - so can't comment on its water-resistance. In summary, when I am riding I am hardly aware of the jacket as it fits like it was tailor-made for me - there is no binding - and I am warm and comfortable. I am sold on Tour Master.

How is the fitment of the XD4 in comparison to the XD3?

I have been looking all over for a dealer in Minnesota that has yet to carry the XD4. All I can find to try on are XD3 helmets. How is the fitment of the 3 in comparison to the 4? A close enough match in size to make an online purchase without trying it on first?
I have not tried an Arai XD-3, but found the XD-4 to be quite narrow. I would not recommend it unless you have a narrow, long-oval shaped head. My Arai Vector - size XL - fits very well. But the XD-4 in the same size does not. I would refer you to my review.
