Nothing too special about this. It's a neck guard so obviously the airflow is going to be poor (which is what you want). I bought this one because of the coverage it provides. There isn't much to it but then again there doesn't need to be. Well priced and well made. I'd buy it again.

What is there to say about this visor. There isn't much to it. It has saved my face a few times since I started riding with it. It covers down to approx. my upper lip, which is decent. It tilts to aid in helmet removal or adjustment if you prefer not to have the visor to close to your face while riding. It is most definitely stable at speed and the head checks on the highway don't faze it one bit.
Very good bang for the buck and a few shades to choose from. Oh and I can most definitely fit a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarer with the shield as close to the face as possible so no worries there if anyone is concerned.

Ok so let start of by saying that I'm somewhat of Dainese loyalist, but when it came to a pair of gloves to complete the cafe look for my Thruxton, I just couldn't find something that was stealth, somewhat cafe, and protective all in one glove. So I looked into the Rev'It line and found the Fly.
Great pair of gloves. I've only ridden with them once last week in the 40 degree NY weather on a fairly windy day. Lets just say my fingers were not frozen solid, which was impressing given the amount of perforation these gloves have.
Fitment wise, they do run a bit small. After reading and watching several reviews, I went with a size XL (I wear L in all Dainese sport gloves, etc...). So they run a bit small but definitely give the snug sport feel which I didn't want to give up going to something down from a full race gauntlet glove.
Hard knuckle and and separate knuckle protectors make this a fairly well equipped glove. The feel at the handlebar is great. Really a good balance of feel, protection, ans stealth style for a glove that doesn't pretend to be anything that it isn't. Needless to say I'm very pleased with my choice.

So let me start off by saying I first strayed off and bought the Roland Sands Ronin Jacket in tobacco (mind you I'm a loyal Dainese guy). I just wasn't satisfied with the cut/"the American fit". In fairness to Dainese I had not seen the dark brown and was put off by the tan color originally and that made dismiss the R-Twin.
After trying on the Ronin jacket and realizing it wasn't for me I browsed the Revzilla site a few more times and found that the Dainese R-Twin was also made in dark brown, and the rest as they say is history.
It's currently in the teens here in NY so you'll have to understand why I haven't had a real ride test with this jacket. However I don't need a ride to tell you haw this baby feels. I normally wear a 52 in one piece suits and jackets from Dainese, but I decided to go with a 50 (partly due to the fact that it was the only size available in dark brown at the time). Lets just say it is spot on. With the liner (which can be zipped out in seconds and looks to be top quality may I add) the fit is a little tight but still comfortable. It really should not affect me since I plan to primarily use this jacket without the liner (mostly spring/summer and early fall). So the fit like any Dainese gear is just awesome. You feel hugged and quite honestly like the jacket was tailored to you.
For reference I should mention that I'm 5'9, with between a 39-40 inch chest. As mentioned earlier I wear a size 52 in most Dainese gear but can get away with a 50 depending.
The look once again is something I feel only Dainese can pull off. A nice vintage feel to the leather, combined with the newest features of the Dainese line (elasticated leather in the back shoulder) and stretch fabric in the arms. That's not something you would associate with a cafe style jacket, but it works very well. As far as I am concerned, Dainese is the best at seamlessly integrating armor in jackets and leathers. That's just something I really felt was lacking in the Roland Sands jacket. The armor which was purchased separately and removable, just didn't feel the way the armor in the R-Twin feels.
If you're looking for a cafe or even just a stylish city cruising jacket, this is definitely a great option. A bit pricey like much of the products in the Dainese line, but well worth it when you consider the style, the quality of the leather and manufacturing. You truly feel like I have a one off jacket but it happens to be off the rack. It's gonna go perfectly with my Bell Custom 500 and Triumph Thruxton. Really superb!!!!

Bell Custom 500 Helmet In tribute to their founder, Roy Richter, Bell has released a line of helmets based on Richter's 500 design. Hailed by Bell as ground zero for the modern motorsport helmet there is no doubt that this original design formed by Richter himself in 1954 has given rise to an industry. The design is a classic that has been updated with modern protective technology by Bell engineers. By combining a custom fiberglass layup with a specially designed EPS foam layer, Bell engineers were able to craft a helmet that is at once light weight, narrow in profile, and DOT-compliant. The Custom 500 series comes in a variety of styles inspired by custom graphics which suit riders from all points along the style spectrum from understated to flash. These helmets rock with looks that are as good as their performance. Features Custom fiberglass shell Custom-quilted liner Chrome trim (graphic dependent) Integrated snaps for aftermarket shields and visors Padded chin strap with D-ring closure and strap keeper Five-year warranty Certification DOT Weight 880g

Ok so I'm a big sportbike guy and therefore a huge full face helmet guy, but having just bought a used Thruxton, I had to go the 3/4 helmet route. Honestly, if you're gonna go the 3/4 helmet, what better route to take than the Bell Custom 500. Lets be fair, with any of those helmets there is only so much protection you're getting. It's a lot about the look because all the DOT approved 3/4's are gonna offer just about the same protection.
Regarding style, you really can't go wrong considering all the choices of graphics Bell offers. I went with the black flake just to match the retro theme, and boy does it fit the bill.
Regarding fit, well lets just say it is spot on. I wear a size small in the Shoei X-Twelve and AGV GP-Tech, and sure enough the size small Bell Custom 500 fit perfectly. I wear earplugs when I ride so as far as wind noise is concerned I can't be the best judge, but having ridden once without earplugs I'd have to say it really wasn't bad.
Bottom line, the Bell Custom 500 didn't make me look like a bobble head, is very comfortable, super stylish, and offers just as much protection as you can expect from a 3/4 or half helmet out there. I do have to say that I wish Revzilla had offered the higher end goggle brands like the Leon Jeantet or Halcyon. But that's no knock on the helmet.

Ordered the dark smoke as I have for the last few helmets I've owned. All there is to say about it is that the dark smoke shield filters the rays but looking through it you'd think you had a clear shield on. It's that easy to get used to. Clarity is spot on. As usual that CW-1 shield is fairly wide (great benefit for the street).

Actually purchased for my dad who bought an X-12 Vermulen 4 just like mine. Let me tell you. He's been ordering XLs forever and finally looking at a size chart, he realized he is really a size L. He ordered the large and the fit was great but he thought the 31mm cheek pads (helmet comes with 35 mm) would give him just a little bit of extra room. The result is an absolute perfect fit.
I think a lot of people fall into this category. Therefore when you think you should go to the next (ie: L to XL), do yourself a favor and try the smaller cheek pads. It might just be the answer.

So I've owned some of the premium helmets out there. I've had a few Arai's, Shark RSI, Dainese Aistream, and there has been nothing wrong with any of them. They've all been great, but that's also a testament to how good the X-Twelve is. Mind you I'm not a super picky person, but I have to say the Shoei X-Twelve is by far the best helmet I've ever owned.
Feature-wise, it's got arguably the best venting in the industry. I can feel the air circulating on he top of my head. Comfort is right up there with all the top helmets I've ever worn, and the fit is better than any other helmet I've owned. The noise level of the helmet is something that is usually a concern when shopping for a new one. Let me tell you first off that I wear ear plugs (I have for most of the helmets I've ridden with) and this helmet isn't just somewhat quiet, or quiet with ear plus, it's quiet period. The other nice feature is the large chin curtain. It larger than any other I've seen on the market and it really creates a nice seal on my neck and helps divert the air keeping it out of the helmet. It is also stable at speed and doesn't buffet. I'm sure the fairly large spoiler has something to do with it. Another critical area most into is safety. Not only is it Snell 2010 but it also has a very nifty cheek pad release system in the event that you'd find yourself in a situation where medical personnel needed to remove your helmet (lets hope this doesn't get used for anyone out there, but's a great plus). The shield mechanism is by far the easiest I've used. The shield really does create a good seal. I haven't tested it in the rain yet but so far wind noise is no match for this helmet.
Price-wise Shoei's are seldom discounted. This is last year's graphic and the only reason it is discounted is that Vermeulen has released a new graphic for 2012. I mean this is an $800+ helmet. Do the math that's quite a bit of savings on the best of the best. I didn't just buy it because it was a deal, but also because I liked the graphics. They are distinct, yet subtle. It's not flashy like the hi-viz yellow of the 2012 Vermeulen. The Vermeulen 4 also has some nice multi-color metallic flake on the top of the help and in the logo in the back under the spoiler. Really spectacular. Honestly when you look at the helmet in person it makes you want to fire the Shoei photographers because none of the pictures do the helmet justice. You have to see this thing in person. It's tasteful and can go with a lot of different colors. I'm using mine on a lime green Kawasaki ZX-6R and it makes for a great contracts. So a great deal for a great helmet, without compromising on looks. That's a win!

This once again a product I have not yet ridden with, but as with all the Dainese products I have owned whether it be gloves, boots, one piece, two piece leather suits, or back protectors, I have never had an issue.
This one is a replacement for my old Dainese Back Space (which came with my Sukhoi one piece suit back in 2005). Since I bought a new Dainese Laguna one piece with the big venturi extractor back hump, I figured lets take full advantage of this thing and maximize venting by updating the back protector. I actually ordered the Thorax Wave back protector, but unfortunately the chest protector piece did not fit in the suit. I proceeded to return that one and went with just the Wave w/scapula. It feels comfortable, and honestly I can hardly notice it's there (mind you my suit is not even broken in yet which speaks volumes for the comfort and fit of Dainese products). It has scapula protection, shoulder straps, as well as a second trap system, which really allows for this fine tuning at the waist and adds a bit of bracing (all nice upgrades from my previous back protector). I went with the hi-viz yellow just to jazz it up a little even though it sits inside the suit. Just a nice option.
In terms of sizing, I'm a regular 12, but the 12 in yellow was going to be a back order, so I decided to go to an 11. To be honest, there really is a minimal difference (we're talking an inch if that from what I can tell). The scapula protection still sits over my scapula, and the height of the back protector is still appropriate. Standard size is 12 but an 11 works for me.
I anticipate it to flow a ton of air and to be as comfortable if not more than it is currently in an unbroken in state. Just another great piece of gear from Dainese.

I must start off by saying that I have yet to ride with the Dainese Druids gloves (still too cold to break out the leathers and fire up the bike here in NY). However trying them on multiple times, I can tell this is going to be a great glove. The fingers don't fit as snug as say an Alpinestars GP Tech or GP Plus (both of which I've owned in the past), but these gloves do offer similar protection as the Alpinestars GP Plus. Good features, comfort is definitely there, and as far as the look, well as most of the Dainese products, it's just beautiful. I can already tell it won't be as bulky as the GP Tech's because there is no big thermoplastic wrist panel. The Dainese Druids gloves does have some foam padding in the wrist closure which provides a nice added level of protection without restricting you in any way.
I should mention I'm a large in most gloves and these fit well. I'm actually hoping the sweat and overall wear makes theme shrink just a bit for a true surgical feel but can't complain.
In terms of looks, well it's elegant, it's stylish, it's Dainese. A little more refined and subtle compared to Alpinestars, and once again a certain tailored look that only Dainese seems to pull off. These are a great match for my new Dainese Laguna Seca Pro Estiva.
As far as price goes, I managed to purchase these during the 15% off sale in January ($178), which was incredible for a new barely released 2012 glove. However, even at the full $209 price these are still very well priced considering the protection they offer, and where in the lineup of Dainese gloves they sit (3rd behind Steel Core Carbon, and Full Metal Pro). In terms of bang for the buck, I think this glove fits the bill. Overall just a beautiful, comfortable, and most importantly protective glove.

Are you guys going to make a video with the Dainese R-Twin jacket?

I'd just really like to see what it looks like when it's being worn (wondering if the elbow pads stick out like some of the other Dainese jackets).
Definitely not as much as the more sport/supersport focused line of jackets. Actually because of the looser fitment on the sleeves now that I'm looking at mine it really isn't noticeable. Well take a look at my pic for reference. Note I'm usually a size 52, and this is a 50 and nothing is bulging out.

If i am a size md in a fulmer v2 helmet will the custom 500 fit the same and will I be a md in the custom 500?

Not sure how the Fulmer helmet fits. What I can say is, the Bell Custom 500 fits true to size from my experience. I'm a small in my Shoei X-Twelve and AGV GP-Tech and the small in the Custom 500 was spot on. Hope this helps man.

How to properly pick size between 1S, 11, 12, 13?

Regarding the waist to shoulder measurement: Do you measure from the belly button to the MIDDLE of the shoulders? Or do you measure from the belly button to the TOP of the shoulders?

A quick video or picture to show where to measure would be really helpful. Thank you.
I measured from belly button to the top of the shoulder. Remember, the average person or "normal torso" will be a size 12. I measured for a 12, but just decided to go with an 11 because that one was available in hi-viz yellow. To be honest it really did not make much difference. I've tried on a 12 and the difference is negligible. Put it this way, you're better off going slightly smaller than slightly bigger. And this applies even more if you're putting this in a race suit (one or two piece). If you're wearing this with just a jacket you can't really go wrong with either.

take a look at this video..Knox Armor seems to do it a little differently (see Youtube link below)

Sizing

I currently have a pair of Alpinestars SMX2 - Air Carbons in size XL. They fit relatively well in the palm, but the fingers are quite a bit to long.

What size would be best for the Full Metal Pro's? Large or XL?
I would say XL just because the Full Metal Pro is a full racing glove and tends to fit pretty snug. However, with Revzilla's exchange policy you should feel comfortable ordering an XL and just sending em back for L if it doesn't pan out. Good luck man.
