I ordered these to be my main riding boots for 90/10 pavement and dirt. They have some good dirtbike/ATV features like the shin plate and Davos sole, but are shorter, lighter, and more flexible than full-on moto boots. They are water proof and warm-wearing which should make them a good choice for Northwet riding.
Initially the boots are pretty stiff, and they are not anatomically shaped with ankle cups, arch supports and the like, so you will have to break them in to fit your foot before they get more comfortable. With the stiff construction and cleated sole, they remind me of an expedition-grade hiking boot; not as comfortable initially as a day-hiker but better in the long run. The cleated soles can hang-up when moving your feet around on the pegs, and you may need to adjust your shift lever to make room. You'd be glad to have 'em trying to extract your bike off a a hillside though.
The look is just what I was after, tough but understated, not too tall, not too short. Italian made with quality leather construction, this boot is priced competitively with the third world options from other companies.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Too much for everyday sport riding?

Are these a bit too much for just plain everyday sportbike riding/walking around? I don't plan to ride dirt. mud or terrains other than concrete, asphalt and the like for now. I just really like the protection these offer over many of the other similarly priced boots.

Thanks.

Probably overkill for a sportriding boot. Unless you wear mountaineering boots on a daily basis. Something shorter/lighter that offers good foot and ankle protection is probably a better choice.
