It is true that this is my first jacket, but I know a good product when I see one. First thing I noticed was the weight and tough build of the jacket, the textile, mesh, and the seams between them seem to be of top-notch and can probably take a lot of abuse, the jacket looks great both on and off, it's true to size if you follow the sizing charts provided here, has a euro-fit look to it and it gives you an instant masculine look, I liked the fact that it's subtle and doesn't have a lot of graphics nor odd designs, I also liked the short and comfortable collar, the easy-to-get-to zippers, and the number of secure pockets all over.
I live in an area with harsh weather, gets extremely hot in the summer, and so the reason behind going with this jacket was the advice from Revzilla CS about it having more air flow than other Alpine Stars textile/mesh options. First thing I did was take out the removable wind protector as I needed the most air flow I could get, and I instantly noticed the breathability of the jacket through it's panels both front and back, riding with it was a blast as tons of air flowed through and cooled me down, this will allow me to ride even more throughout summer without worrying too much about the heat.
I replaced both protection foam paddings (Chest & Back) with AlpineStars Bionic Chest Pads and Bionic Air Back protector as I needed the extra protection they offer, and I believe they compliment the jacket very well, they are well secured in place with the help of the velcro patches that sit around them in the jacket (except for a tiny wiggle room I noticed with the back protector, nothing serious), it was a bit of a hassle getting them in place and aligning the velcro patches, but once done there's no need to worry about them again.
I highly recommend this jacket for anyone looking for lot's of air flow, also consider the black and white color option if you're riding in the sun, as the white will help reflect the heat of the sun.
