I purchased these pants to wear in Arizona and the Southwest for most of the year. We experience some extreme heat and I liked the air flow qualities of this item. I received the pants a few weeks ago and wore them the fist time this past Friday on a 500 mile ride. The air flow is awesome, the comfort is awesome. The adjustable velcro at the ankle area works great. The length could be an inch longer but certainly ok the way it is. My waist ( my problem ) is a bit snug but this will force me to eat better. I have not worn the pants with the liner and likely won't until next winter. My ride this past Friday was in the low 50's and it was a perfect temp for these pants. I strongly recommend checking these out.

Can this be worn as a stand alone pant without the lining?
Most certainly they can be worn without the liner. This is how I plan on wearing these most of the time. I can bring the liner with me in the Paniers and zip it in if need be.
