These TCX X-5 Plus Gore Tex size 45 boots fit just a tiny bit larger than the 2 year old size 45 Alpinestars they replaced and are much stiffer all over. These are solid feeling boots. Protection seems decent. I have been wearing them all day every day for a week now and they are just starting to get slightly more flexible. Another week or two and I think they will be feeling just right. The toe box is taller than I am used to and that makes shifting cumbersome, but I am starting to get used to it. Traction is very good even in the wet, and they are waterproof so far. I ride every day in all weather and put over 15,000 miles on the bike each year, so these will get a workout. Hopefully these soles will last longer than the Alpinestars soles did, and the leather will hold up better too. These are made in Romania, not Italy, but workmanship seems top notch.

How high do these boots rise in front and back?

I currently wear a military type boot @ 9 inches high, I Prefer a higher cut to low cut boots.
These come up to the mid point between my ankle and my knee, or the center of my shin bone. The front is higher than the back.

Can TCX X-Five Plus Gore-Tex Boot, be worn for a long time and walked in for say 4 - 6 hours Comfortably

While on long rides, say 1 to 2 weeks, I would like not to have to pack other shoes. Can a person ware these say for all day and not end up a cripple, haha. While my wife is with me, she likes to shop, which means stopping at places and looking around for hours.
I just got these 1 week ago, and have been wearing them all day everyday. I have to walk a lot on my job and have not had any problems with my feet.

How warm is this boot?

I am looking for a winter boot that I can keep my toes from freezing up and going numb. How cold can this boot be comfortably used? I am in Surprise, AZ and get temps down to the 20s at times in the winter. I also occasionally go to Prescott and Flagstaff where temps are much lower.
For short trips <1/2 hour these will keep your feet warm at 20 degrees, but for longer rides you might want to slip in a heated insole or socks. I have also found that if I wear my heated jacket liner my hands and feet stay warmer. Keep your core warm and your body can send more blood out to your extremities.
